I'm not ashamed. I love this movie.
That's my favorite typo, though.

Sorry, Mom
And Em, I'm not ashamed either! I STILL think it's an important movie because so many young women around the world embraced a story that ultimately boiled down to accepting and embracing their individual power and freedom.
And I liked it, too

See, I was the third grader who read all of the books about the boat, and made my dad drive me three hours to some hole-in-the-wall Titanic "museum." I've always had an obsessive personality.

After work, I'm going straight to Borders to get my copy.
You Americans do know that the downside to buying the DVD now is that you only get three discs, right? Everywhere else there's a four disc special edition (fourth disc contains trailers, TV spots and spoofs). Quite the scandal.
(You're really a fan if you know when Rose says "Quite the scandal." Either that or you once were one.)

I will definitely be buying this today. I was so excited when I saw the commercial last week.
I actually just watched it on Friday.
Everytime I watch it, I find something else about Rose that I love.

Geez, Evelyn. Now I feel a bit ripped off.
Any clues as to why we are only getting 3 discs?

Remember Titanic's budget was so huge that it had to be distributed by two major studios: Fox and Paramount. Paramount is releasing the DVD in the U.S. and Fox is releasing the DVD abroad.
Expect to get a four or five-disc 'criterion' version in 2007. If you have a region-free DVD player, you can probably order the four disc through UK Amazon.com and watch it.

im not waiting- the 3 disc is fine for me now. besides its only 20.00 at virgin. i can just get it again if they release it again.
quite the scandel-
"thats john jacob astor- the richest man on the ship....etc" tis when rose is talking to jack before dinner about the diff. people on the ship... and reffering to astor's young wife in delicate condition.
the alternative ending is titled 'brock's epiphany'.....speculate.

Posted: 10/25/05 at 11:21amBeware of UK releases. They are encoded in PAL video, and run at a faster rate of speed. If you know and love this film, you will find it hard to adjust to the characters with slightly higher-pitched voices, as the films runs faster than it is intended.

Good point, Brendan.
Mimi, you're definitely a fan.
(And that epiphany really isn't that.. it's more like 'realizing the obvious'... gotta love Titanic and James Cameron's insistence to Kenneth Turan that he had written a brilliant screenplay.)

my favorite moment you can only catch if you're watching closely:
After the ship splits in two, Leonardo DiCaprio pops Kate Winslet in the face. And she's hurting.
