phelps and lochte both broke the world record in the 400 im with phelps turning in the lower time and current world record of 4:05.25.
katie hoff broke also set a new wr in the 400 im: 4:31.12.
hayley mcgregory broke the 100 backstroke mark only to see the hottest american swimmer ever to put on a swimsuit, natalie coughlin, break it back in the very next heat. natalie then went on to become the first woman ever to swim a sub-59 100 back setting the new current world record of :58.97 in the finals.
aaron piersol lowered his own 100 back world record to :52.89.
tonight sees natalie take on teen sensation katie hoff in the 200 im which natalie avoided for 7 years after a 4th place finish in the 2000 trials.

if they're available to everyone, shames, it's fair. caps and goggles technically enhance performance as well. so does shaving down. are we gonna ban them as well? how about naked hairy swimmers without goggles?
as far as breaking records, i think we're still no where near seeing the full potential of the human body.

I know, I know, but it just seems like the new suits are taking it to another level.
And, personally, I'm all for (somewhat) hairy naked swimmers.
