I've got a new assignment for that reporter.
I just like riling people up in my spare time.
Whatever happened to liking long walks on a beach? Or long walks off short piers?
That is weird. Is that why you've been nicer/better at ignoring them lately?
There are people here (and again, I use Goth as an example) who you will see anything negative written about anything horrible they say, automatically deleted.
Wynbish, no. I just don't really care anymore. And especially right now when I'm on the train heading to a funeral, I just seriously don't want to give anymore time than I need to to people who are out to just puss people off because it gets them off.
But it's like how I called Mikey out last week. He hasn't even back here, since.
In the case of Reddit, the troll was actively assisting in the moderation of the site, which is why he was given a pass. I don't really see that happening here.
The power of perspective
Jordan, just wanted to say that I'm sorry for whatever loss you're dealing with.
Thanks, Reg. It's been a real SH*T week.
Did this guy post annoying song lyrics too?
This article is from last year and old news. FYI.

It's still relevant with what's going on at the BWW board where the trolls redirect every topic to be about them.

All due respect, Wildcard - the trolls redirect the topics ONLY because we allow them to. The recent experiments of ignoring the trolls as if they didn't exist and responding only to the regular posters who had posted before them was quite successful, I thought - but now that people are acknowledging them again, yes, we've given them the power to take control.
I, too, would like to offer my condolences to Jordan.
Ghostlight is right, we need more discipline

That's true, Ghostlight. Kudos to Reg for spearheading that endeavor.
A couple of thoughts have been sort of rattling around in my brain with regard to this thread. Obviously the trolls (and I imagine some of them, even though they KNOW they're trolling, don't think of themselves as actual, you know, trolls) get a kick out of trying to get people riled up. They're bored, I imagine, especially the kids, and they're anonymous, so why not?
But then I think there must be something that brought them to BWW in particular; a desire to engage with other people with at least one shared interest. But by indulging in the trolling urge, it means they'll never be part of the actual BWW community. And that's kind of sad.
We've shared interests, laughed, fought, learned stuff, made friends, celebrated births, mourned deaths, helped one another through crises, helped folks find jobs . . . The list goes on and on.
And they'll always be outside that.
It's like they're standing outside, making faces through the window. I don't see the appeal.

interesting Reg, i think in some cases, some people have come here to share ideas, share their love of theater, hear diff opinions from what they usually and been unfairly bullied and labeled because they dont follow goosestep with a very few consider to be PC. its odd to me as those very bullies probably have had that same problem in their real lives. so maybe like a boy who was beaten, he beats his boy
Think about it.
I count 5 of BWW most notorious trolls on this thread. The ones that pretend not to be trolls but love making accusations and putting that label on others. They also love to act all victimized. They think they are troll masterminds but they are not. They are just sad.
Liza's, thanks for the thanks, but ghostlight has been recommending this for months. And of course, lots of people have been doing it on their own all along.
This would make a great musical! MeanGirls vs Trolls... sounds like something Julie Taymor would be interested in,
Reg, trolls are just outside creatures. Trolls presumably would rather be antagonistic, entertained, and so alone than be a part of something and be positively social and peaceful.
