Damn you guys are interesting! And DG, i am currently writing my first musical, and i am 16 years lod. So i guess i still have much to learn. I did not realize these messeg boards are so formal. And fiction, how can you complain about the way i write and then when someone catches a mistake from you you pull that junk about spell check! And im lazy, atleast i dont rely on a computer to do the work for me! justagirl2 You make some great points. :)

If you have a good track record, then why make a comment about relying on spell check?

Crimson - seriously, it's not that it's so formal - trust me, there are many who would be HAPPY to point out how 'informal' I can be re: why - BUT, all we have to work with is what we're presented with. I'm happy to know your age - not because I judge, but because it gives a perspective.

You're doing the one thing I think matters in this forum - engaging. Too many become instantaneously defensive and crawl in a hole. We'll find our balance - you and the board - and both will benefit, as long as you talk from your heart and DON'T LIE! (Sorry, personal soapbox re: why)

It's cool. I find it awesome that you disagree with lying. I hate, absolutely hate liars. And i just get aggrivated when people stress so much over something as simple as grammer. Im not aiming that at you, but at people in general. This world stresses so much and it causes so many problems. If people would just relax and let people act themselves then we wouldnt have to wory. But then again if that happened then i wouldn't have anything to complain about and i would be board out of my mind!

Correct spelling, grammar and punctuation is not an overly-stuffy outmoded form relegated to people with tiny little noses who sit at Victorian writing desks sending thank-you notes to the people who sold them tires last week.

To make the effort to form your posts correctly shows not just a desire to effectively communicate with the audience at hand, it shows a respect for them. Thus far you haven't shown that desire or that respect, but you seem to be insulted by not receiving that respect in return. Certainly none of us here are perfect all of the time, but we at least make the effort.

Before posting, BWW gives you the option of previewing your message. Should there be a mistake, BWW also offers you the option of editing that message after the fact. If you are running the latest version of Firefox, it will also automatically underline spelling mistakes for you to review. If you want to positively interact with people on this board, I would suggest that you use these tools. It's not about formality. It's about ease of communication and respect.

Well, i am sorry if i have dissrespected anyone on this messegeboard with my lazy writing. I do not get offended if people spell incorrectly, i do not see it as any form of disrespect. I do not see how a person can get so upset over some kid they don't even know posting a question, directed to no one specifically. However if i have hurt anyone's feeling's or ruined anyone's night by not writing, please accept my apology.

Just for the record, my nose is not 'tiny' - and you know what they say . . .

Crimson - no offense, here. All we're saying is that what you present is what we have to deal with. There was a strange kind of dichotomy going on with the request for writing help combined with the lazy posting style, that's all.

Carry on, and don't be afraid of what you get in return re: why

Oooh - a triple post! And crimsonflutterby, I'm not just talking about this message board in general. If you want to succeed anywhere you need to take a good hard look at the first impression you make. You can take that advice now or learn it the hard way later.

Sorry about the triple post, i did not think it worked the first time. I understand what your saying. I guess i should think more highly of ranom people on messegeboards. And treat every board as a job interview. Treat it like i might meat some random important person that wont hire me because my grammer is not perfect and i write lazily in situations like this. No offense to anybody, but if someone bases there oppinion of me off of a stupid messegeboard than that person is probably not worth my time. Overall i understand what you are saying, i just dont agree with every point you are making. And DG, i got ya

Well, fiction, your preaching to me about first impressions and all that junk. Well how is jumping all over someone making a good first impression? If i were looking for someone to hire, i would much rather hire someone who messes up grammer on messegeboards, than someone who is going to pick at someone for not doing things the traditional way.

Are these people not worth your time the same people you want to help write your musical?

For a newbie you quickly picked up on that edit feature.

Crimson - I'm going to ignore your defensiveness, and ask one question:

If you have such low regard for 'random people on messageboards', what the HELL were you doing on here asking for help with your musical?

All that tells me is what you think of your OWN writing capabilities, or the potential value of the creation.

Bottom line? Stay in school - and learn that just because this is 'only a message board' doesn't mean that the parameters of the world don't still exist.

In other words, you're still a little wet behind the ears, and if you want to play in the real world, learn how.

Now, what are you still doing up? Don't you have school tomorrow?

etoile: It was nearly half a year before I realized there was such a feature and 9 months until I knew what a PM was or how to use it. Then again, I'm oblivious, anyway. Also, at the time I wasn't spending as much time on BWW. Maybe 5 hrs./week tops.

A little over-the-top, but pretty much the same concept. Although, your atrocious spelling makes me doubt your ability to even be a dishwasher, much less any other job duty.

but if someone bases there oppinion of me off of a stupid messegeboard than that person is probably not worth my time.

It's a public forum. This is how you are choosing to represent yourself in public. Would you say that an employer who bases their opinion of you from a "stupid interview" is not worth your time, either?

Ha Ha,no i dont, we have nevada day off, and it is only 10:50 here. I do not have a low regard for messegeboards and i am sorry if i said it that way. I have problems when i am coming here asking for help, meaning that i had to have some sort of respect for the people here, and then people like fiction jump pon my case. He could have put it a little nicer. I am "a little wet behind the ears" so what! I think high of my writing capabilities, not arrogent high, but high enough. I just know my limits. And every adult and teacher i have talked to has suggested lloking for help with the songs.
