Dear Mandy, do you know what blaxx will do to you if you ever spit on Toni Collette again?

Has Patinkin ever done a London show? Not one of his concerts, but a show. If he hasn't, why not?

If he could choose any play (musical or play) to perform on B'way, what would it be/what role?

What performance medium (TV, Film, Stage)does he find most "at home" with?

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Has he ever read a bit of criticism about him in a review that upset him or helped him improve as a performer?

I would love to know which of his roles was his favourite, or which he felt most connected to

But I guess that's a pretty common and lame question

I do honestly want to hear him defend himself in The Wild Party fiasco.

Other than that I think a little self-depreciating way-back-when question would be fun. Felicity Huffman was on Leno this week and one of the first questions he asked was if she'd ever been fired from an acting gig.

You're reminding me of people you hear at the movies asking questions every ten seconds, "Who is that? Why is that guy walking down the street? Who's that lady coming up to him? Uh-oh, why did that car go by? Why is it so dark in this theater?" - FindingNamo on strummergirl

"If artists were machines, then I'm just a different kind of machine...I'd probably be a toaster. Actually, I'd be a toaster oven because they're more versatile. And I like making grilled cheese" -Regina Spektor

"That's, like, twelve shows! ...Or seven." -Crazy SA Fangirl

"They say that just being relaxed is the most important thing [in acting]. I take that to another level, I think kinda like yawning and...like being partially asleep onstage is also good, but whatever." - Sherie Rene Scott

How did he teach ( or at least try to teach) Madonna to sing Sondheim?( Dick Tracy)

Assuming you do not want to be rude and obnoxious in asking some of the questions the readers have posted here, you might ask him about how his personal life informs his work and vice versa. He is a devoted family man and would probably have some great insight into what he has learned in his work and his life.

Oh. O.K. You wanna be his NBF? Ask him about his train sets.
Seriously. Man is a major collector.

You want to antagonize him? Ask him about how his faith informs his work.

I would love to know his level of awareness re: the personal tics and characteristic excesses that informed his work in such shows as SITPWG and FOLLLIES, and that became later-career liabilities in terms of his being cast only in bigger-than-life stage roles (THE WILD PARTY, THE TEMPEST).

He seems to keep himself fairly under control and realistic on television (or does he?), but recordings, concerts and stage work--not so much.

What roles would he most want to play if he had been a woman rather than a man?

"Other than that I think a little self-depreciating way-back-when question would be fun."

Why didn't Barbra Streisand let you sing in Yentl? Did you feel intimidated by her doing everything in that movie? Did she give you line readings?

What is the real reason you got fired from Heartburn? Was it because Meryl Streep thought you were prettier than she was?
