Where oh where is Pacific Overtures?!
I'm surprised about Sara Ramirez, but not about Tim Curry, he's really wasted in that show.
Completely, 100% shocked at the snub for Billy Crudup.
I was glad to see Lily Rabe in there. I thought Francis Sternhagen might been in the same category, however, it was nice to see that she was nominated for something, although I don't remember that play, was it off-broadway?
How can I take the Drama Desk seriously when they don't give Sara Ramirez a nomination?! This is very disturbing! Off I go to listen to all her tracks on the Spam obcr.
I'm surprised that they had the good sense to nominate Norbert! Where is David Larsen's nomination for his incredible turn as Bobby in the misunderstood masterpiece Good Vibrations?! OY!
I don't know Bobby, I'm thinking Christmas Eve fiasco.
Ramirez is weak on stage. Yay for the others in that category... Gleason, Maxwell and McGovern especially are more deserving, in my opinion.
Well I hope so. I have heard many accounts that Ramirez is overrated in the part.
Al,
Though I didn't think Morrison's voice really fit the role, his acting was simply divine.
It's seem that Ramirez's role in the show got more praise that Ramirez herself.
I agree that Sara Ramirez is very overrated. She's mediocre at best.
Too bad about Kelli O'Hara, James Earl Jones and the cast of Gem of the Ocean. It should have AT LEAST gotten a best play nomination.
Ruprecht is also disappointed about Lithgow.
I thought Sara Ramirez was wonderful in Spamalot, she's funny, has a beautiful voice, and was the only consistantly good thing in that show. But, if her snub leaves room for Joanna Gleason...

I'm just confused about Morrison in the Lead Category. Yeah, Lithogow...I hope he doesn't get a Tony snub.
Well, yours was better organized, Margo, but I got there first. :)

and YEAH for NEWSical and their TWO NOMINATIONS!!! Special Congrats to RICK CROM for BEST LYRICS... VERY well deserved!!!
I'm happy to see that Christian Borle was in there. He was the best thing about "Spamalot."
WTF!! Not ONE nomination for UNDER THE BRIDGE? Kathie Lee must be totally pissed!
Norbert---seems to be the front-runner for a Tony, no? With no Curry being nominated?
I'll take your word for it RobbieJ. Good for Lenox. She's paid her dues.

I'm a little surprised that B. Crudup isn't up for Pillowman, nor was the direction for Pillowman recognized...
Quite happy that C. Borle was recognized as featured in Spamalot...

Gov,
I didn't notice yours till afterwards. I just cut and pasted mine from Playbill -- a lot easier that way (they did all the work)
Surprised that Curry and Ramirez didn't get noms. A lot of people say Curry doesn't do anything in the musical...but his part is that of the straight man...he's not supposed to be flashy. IMHO he plays Arthur very well and is like the glue that holds it all together.
I also though Lithgow and Crudop might get noms. Happy for Applegate though.

No GEM OF THE OCEAN, No GHETTO SUPERSTAR. No PACIFIC OVERTURES or Sara Ramirez. Guess it was an all-white jury. Lawdy!
