I know some people will either bash the show or say it's a stupid idea to make a cast recording with Elena after the London one, but with Ricky Martin as Che why wouldn't they want to make a "New Broadway Cast Recording"? Even though we already have Elena on the last London recording, I think it would be wonderful if they captured the entire "re-orchestrated" score, just like they did with the OBCR. Thoughts?

I'd say it's almost a sure thing. I mean on the london recording rogers voice was very different then it is now, her singing voice is so so much better, and she has a better handle on her accent, so it's not all over the place, which annoyed some with the london recording.
I hope they do a new one, but I would really prefer a full double CD but that rarely happens these days.
I'd buy it... if they're re-adding "The Lady's Got Potential" for Ricky Martin. Otherwise, no dice. I can make a mix CD of the OBC and "You Must Love Me" any day.

I'm sure that an unknown's better singing and better handle on her accent are not enough reason to put in thousands for a new recording.
If anything, it would be because of Martin. That is, if they can figure out a deal with his own company.

Oh i know that blaxx i acknowledge him as the ham in the chicken cordon bleu that is this revival. You love the chicken and cheese and ignore the ham as much as possible because of love for everything else.
How can you possibly make those judgements when the show hasn't even begun previews yet? I think he might end up being wonderful.
They don't record for posterity -- they record to make $.

I think that Roger is the cheese and Cerveris is the chicken? I'm confused. Martin is the ham for sure.
I really hope they make a new cast recording. A full recording, not just the highlights like they did with the London revival.

Roger is the chicken, largest portion of the show is evita on stage she dosn't leave. Peron is relatively small like a good helping of cheese. Marin is the ham, you ignore because you like the chicken and the cheese.
I disliked the London revival recording not just for Roger's distracting accent but for its thin tinnines.
If they do record another, I hope they correct that.

Yes, I hate it when an Argentinean actress playing an Argentinean actress sounds too Argentinean.
What's your excuse for the thin tinniness?
Oh, let me guess, that's how authentic tango sounds like, eh?
Honestly, I think Ricky Martin will probably end up being surprisingly good as long as he has the vocal stamina for the part.
And the ham is my favorite part of Chicken Cordon Bleu. Without it, the flavor would be quite bland.
