2016-2017 ART schedule out

http://archive.skem1.com/Campaigner/Public/t.show?amcqj--85jt4-1op4u2l7

Most underwhelming schedule I've seen in the 6-7 years I've been paying attention

Notes from the Field: Doing Time in Education

Created, written, and performed by Anna Deavere Smith
Music composed and performed by Marcus Shelby

The Plough and the Stars

Written by Sean O’Casey
Directed by Sean Holmes

Fingersmith

Written by Alexa Junge
Based on the novel by Sarah Waters
Directed by Bill Rauch

Trans Scripts, Part I: The Women

Written by Paul Lucas
Directed by Jo Bonney

The Night of the Iguana

Written by Tennessee Williams
Directed by Michael Wilson

Arrabal

Book by John Weidman
Music by Gustavo Santaolalla
Directed and Co-choreographed by Sergio Trujillo

Plough and Stars and the Iguana might be all we go to.

2016-2017 ART schedule out

I agree. When I got the email yesterday, I scrolled through the choices several times thinking I must have misses something.

What I'm shocked at, however, is that Diane Paulus is not directing anything. Anyone that can speak to that?

I'm sure there will be interesting things and that I'll still subscribe....but maybe with a little less excitement.

Shows I'm considering:

Notes from the Field

Trans Scripts

Iguana

Arrabal

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

2016-2017 ART schedule out

I was a little surprised to see nothing that plainly appears to be Broadway bound. It feels like the first time that's happened in a few years.

"a little surprised to see nothing that plainly appears to be Broadway bound"

Sometimes a breath of the freshest air whenever regional theatres make their season announcements.

2016-2017 ART schedule out

Considering the shift in demographics that ART has seen since Diane Paulus has been at the helm, I don't know that their subscribers would agree. I imagine many of the newer patrons are going to be turned off by this announcement.
