Well I guess that depends what the 'whole point' is - if the whole point is to showcase musicals in the best possible light to hopefully sell tickets I would suggest a pre-record from the theatre actually sounds like a good idea! Every year we always complain that the performances don't always reflect well on the show. Maybe it's not going to be fun for the Tony audience, but I'd be keen for them to try something different. Just needs to be pulled off in a way that still makes it all feel real and not canned (f that's even possible).
Give me claws and a hunch, just away from this bunch.
