2026-7 season emptiness

I'm just looking at the theatre availability come September and it appears that 17 theatres will have shows closing by or before then with only really 7/8 publicly waiting in the wings in some capacity. Does anyone else feel that this is a little surprising, considering we are (just) into April, I would have thought some more official words of "opening in the fall" would have been surfacing by now. Even an official N2N announcement. or something. Is this a sign that maybe broadway may be in a rut similar to the early 90's for a couple seasons?

International chaos, economic and otherwise, probably has producers choosing caution.
