haha i just posted that too. Question though. what makes the determination as to who was a supporting or a lead? I think this is an ensemble piece BUT I feel justin Kirk was a lead character more then Pacino??
They probably didn't want Kirk and Pacino competing, to possibly cancel each other out. Plus Pacino is a star, where Kirk is not, so he has a better chance of being nominated and winning. Might as well put him in the lead category in that case. Remember, all these awards are about business and politics.
I guess, I was suprised about emma too. I am so happy for Mary-Louise.
WHERE'S LIZA'S NOMINATION FOR ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT??? THIS IS A TRAVESTY!!!!!
YAY! Angela Lansbury got a nod for 'The Blackwater Lightship'.She's been nominated loads of times and never won so hopefully, this is her year!

I SO glad that Angels has all of these nods. The series was WONDERFUL and worthy of each one.

I was surprised that Emma Thompson was nominated as a Leading Actress, I thought that her part was more of a supporting part. I have a feeling Angels is going to sweep the Emmys.

Isn't it incredible. ALL the main actors got nominated. What a coup!
It's expected to be quite a sweep too! Kinda like Lord of the Rings at the Oscars this year.
I think the crowd should expect to hear Thomas Newman's AIA Main Title theme ALOT that night. :o)

Meryl Streep and Al Pacino are without a doubt winning. Mary-Louise Parker and Jeffrey Wright will probably win. Tony Kushner is definitly winning. Mike Nicohls(sp?) has a good chance. I'm sure it will win best miniseries also.
See I think Justin Kirk will win because I think when he was not nominated for a golden globe it seemed some actors were shocked!! So i bet he gets a LOT of votes based on that snub.

I think it'll go to Wright, who -- as he did on stage -- stole every scene he was in and held his own going head-to-head with Pacino.
Kirk was lackluster and miscast as Prior -- he somehow missed laugh after laugh because of his flubbed line readings (the man wouldn't know "camp" if it bit him on the nose), he never found the requisite passion or anger of the character (Spinella still owns this role) and, frankly, looked more like an A & F model than an AIDS ravaged prophet. He doesn't deserve any awards for that performance.

I thought Justin Kirk was good. I think he deserved the nomination, but he was no where near as good as Jeffrey Wright was. Like Margo said, he stole every scene he was in, even when he was sharing the screen with a movie legend.
He was incredible.

Wow. I'm SO torn as to who I want to get supporting actor. I can't even make a decision. Still, I'm so proud of and happy for all of them. My Patrick is an Emmy nominee!!!
