I hope it's a lotto. I can see people lining up at the wee hours of the morning if this is a rush.

I might just cave in and buy a full-priced ticket. It'll be way more convenient.

I hope its student rush, because at least with student rush youre guarenteed a ticket if you get there by a certain time. But with lotto, its all luck, and with all those people entering in it, you wouldnt have much of a chance.

But yeah, I'm already planning to try and see it a few times for $25. So yeah, I really hope they announce the policy soon.

"Student rush is what people were talking about. People were camping out at RENT for student rush tickets, which is why they implemented the lottery."

It was a GENERAL rush, not student rush. It became so popular they had no choice but to switch to a lottery system.

"Obviously, theaters don't invite people to camp out for tickets. But if you offer first-come-first-served tickets to wildly popular shows, people will arrive as early as they can to ensure that they get tickets, even arriving the night before and sleeping there."

They don't discourage it though. I personally liked Jersey Boys' original student rush policy, where they only sold the tickets a few hours before curtain. A theater can easily institute a policy prohibiting people from lining up before a certain time.

"I personally liked Jersey Boys' original student rush policy, where they only sold the tickets a few hours before curtain."

It's funny because when that was the policy, I really didn't care for it that much basically because I just went and got tickets for matinees and I wanted to get the tickets as soon as the box office opened and I felt a little annoyed when the box office opened at 10am and then I had to what another hour to get the tickets, but then right around the time JLY extended and wasn't doing matinees anymore, I was like Why can't the old policy still be in effect?

I'm hoping for either rush or lotto, maybe more rush because I want to go for a Wednesday matinee in October and I figure there should be that many students there.

I walked by Pirate Queen rush line once and people had created the line up the stairs of the New Victory theatre. That wouldn't obstruct anything, as long as there wasn't any event going on there before 10am when the balcony exits (what the stairs lead to/from) would need to be open and clear.

They held the lotteries for the performances up through yesterday I believe. I think it starts on a daily basis tomorrow.

Yep, that's right. They're good seats, too (front row, and it's a great view because the stage isn't very high). My amazing friend won a pair of tickets and we saw it last week from the front row, dead center. I'm glad I only paid $25 to see it, because I can't afford the regular ticket prices and the show definitely isn't worth that much.

i completely agree #1Elphie, if you can't get $25 seats, i wouldn't recomend this show.

The lotto for YF is going to take place every day in the McDonalds across the street after they open. They did it there all in one day for all of the preview performances. There are big signs in the McDonalds explaining how it works. I believe they're taking names 3 hours before performances and will call it 2 hours before.

So it's definitely a lotto and not a rush of any kind? How many people have been showing up?

I heard that the day they held the lottery for the first 2 weeks it wasn't as crazy as most expected..Tommorrow is the first day since then so who knows!

The day of the 2 week drawing you had to sign up for a specific performance. They then gave you a time to be at McDonalds and they let you upstairs only when the performance you signed up for was being drawn. So all the people who signed up that day were split into like 16 groups. There were about 75-100 people in the drawing for the day I picked. So my feeling is that it may get kinda crazy up there with everyone. I believe the seats are front row.

Anyone going to this tonight?
