I'd love to see that turned into a film. I adore the show. It doesn't seem to get brought up much on here.
You only think that because you weren't here from 2005-2007. https://www.broadwayworld.com/cuba/board/readmessage.php?thread=878896&page=1
And I love Spelling Bee, but no, there's no need for a film.
I agree, I think a lot of the appeal is the malleable and improvising nature of it. To commit a certain version to film would stagnate it.
Be nice to Bilbo. He likes to post innocent threads like this now in hopes people forget that he's the worst troll we've ever had here.
Shhhhh I'm in a pretentious critic-y mood tonight and wanted to use fancy words to shoot down this ideaaaaaaaa

Care to explain why? I think it could definitely be adapted to film. Would make a great summer movie. I think the trick would be to not make the kids come off cartoonish. Keep the piece grounded.

It's clearly explained by Nowack in the post following Lizzie's. Also...

The show has an immersive quality that film can't capture. The improv, the audience participation, the feeling that you're in the school gymnasium are no small part of its charm.
That's a great point, Taz. I completely forgot about the improv.

Out of all the threads and posts you could link to, you choose the David Letterman thread. Really?! There's nothing even mildly juicy in there. Good Lord, troll, you need to brush-up on your trolling ways.

I am sorry for all the harm I have caused you and this board and I am willing to change. Some of my comments have been out of line and I don't blame you for thinking I am a troll. I have actually been apologizing to many posters on here today and I really would like to repent for my shenanigans. I hope we can be civil from now on and I hope you accept this apology. If you don't than I will understand. Have a good day.

"You are a terrible bigot so it is difficult to watch you play sanctimonious about bigotry.Meanwhile, despite your best efforts to make another thread about you, this is a DavidLetterman winding down thread." - Finding Namo
"Like much you say here, you say it not to engage in an intellectual discussion but merely to "score points" and prove another person wrong. That is what makes people despise you: that you are so invested in proving other people wrong." - Pal Joey
"And nevvvvvvvvvvvvvverrrrrrrr acknowledging you're wrong. You just stop responding when you're proven wrong and pop up somewhere else as if you're just going to blend in and be a normal person but you're waiting to pounce again.Perhaps the abscessory can start its own thread called Good riddance homophobic Letterman, although we all know it's more interested in derailing existing threads." - Finding Namo

Can't say they are wrong about you.
This thread is making me chuckle out loud. Two trolls fighting over who's the worse troll. Priceless!
