With all the turmoil in our country, do you thinks ragtime revival would work. With full set and a star studded cast I think it could work. Maybe Brandon Victor Dixon as Coalhouse and Jake Gyllenhall as Tateh?
I just saw a production at Carnegie Mellon (full of future Broadway stars) and it was brilliant. Works perfectly for now. I wish Fiddler's revival was more successful, the refugee theme fit too perfectly to our time.
It recently had a revival that flopped big time - it was too soon and also got mixed reviews. It's a good show, but it doesn't need three Broadway productions in twenty years.
