Is it "Can't find it like taxes" or "can't fight it like taxes"? The first option is from the lyrics I found online, but the second makes more sense.

Can't find it, like taxi's.

That's what I thought it said for the longest time. Now the more I think about it, he sounds like he's saying taxes.

I love the Raul, but sometimes I can't understand every word he says.

Well, maybe they had trouble finding taxis.

He mumbles a bit sometimes.

Funny... first time I heard it, I thought it was "Can't fight it, like Texas." And thought a Texas insult was a bit random.

I try to insult Texas at least once in everything I write. re: 30/90 lyric question

I always understood it, but I always thought it was similar to that Ben Franklin quote about two things in life being unavoidable: death and taxes. You can't fight taxes anymore than you can fight death/aging.

It says "Can't fight it, like taxes" lyrics directly from the cd insert. I think this person just made a mistake, there are several that they made on a bunch of the songs.

Yeah, Raul is pretty much uncomprehensible in some of the songs on Tick,Tick...Boom - not just in that song. In "Why?" I don't understand some of the stuff he said, until I got the music.

My brother has the vocal selections, and the CD insert is in my house somewhere, so if I really wanted to, I could look. But sometimes, there's more fun in trying to figure out what he's saying, because usually it's way off, but FUNNY.

I think it's because sometimes he bleeds his words together. I've never found it to be a bother on anything but TTB, though. He's even fairly easy to understand on the Taboo recording.

During Hushabye Mountain I swear he says: "I want to make wild passionate monkey love with you, Robbie".
