So long as the venue is housing a professional production, is located in NYC, and has a seating capacity greater than 100 and fewer than 500, it qualifies as an Off-Broadway theatre. True, but only if by "professional production" you mean a production that has contracted as "Off-Broadway" with all labor unions, Actors Equity Association, Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, the League of Off-Broadway Theatres and Producers, etc. 35MM played a two-night engagement at Galapagos. It was a rental.
But yes, you are absolutely correct that Galapagos "can be" an official Off-Broadway venue.
