Anyone seeing this? I am so torn. I am considering getting a subscription but it's so expensive to see all four plays and the remaining seats don't seem that fantastic. I really can't decide what to do.

You're so torn? What's to tear?
The gallery seats are fine. 4 plays will run you maybe $120 if you sit up there. That's where I will be. If good seats are more important than the plays themselves, reassess.
Go see these. The RSC doesn't go travelling every season.

I am seeing the first 2 Richard the II & Henry IV pt 1. I'd like to see all 4 but not living in NY it's hard for me.
And I ended up buying random shows for my other 2 shows to meet the sub requirements. . I basically asked for the cheapest shows available because I won't be able to go to them.
Actually I could have possibly seen Henry IV pt 2 as well but I thought 3 plays in one weekend was a bit much, especially since the Shakespeare plays are 3 hours long each) I am seeing Henry IV part 1 & Street Car Named Desire the same weekend & Richard the II the weekend before.

I was thinking of four in one weekend. I'd be broke and possibly Shakespeared out. I'd maybe have bardzaustion!

I bought the 4 plays on impulse in the rear of the balcony.. but I remember people saying (on the board) that the balcony at BAM is some of the most uncomfortable seating known to man, woman or beast. Don't know why I want to know this (as I am committed) but can anyone offer some insight into the BAM balcony seats? Perhaps prepared is prepared.

I sat up there for the Ivo van Hove Angels in America and was not particularly uncomfortable even though they are odd seats. I was in love with the production so it felt like it whizzed by.

I haven't been up there, but I believe the theater was renovated over the summer so the seats should be less awful. And even if they are, if a production is good enough it's really not that bad.

I got balcony seats for Henry IV pt 1 but 2nd Tier orchestra seats for Richard II. They were only $65 I believe so those were not too expensive. I would have went for better seats but those were all that were still available.
It was buying tickets to multiple plays that gets pricey plus if you are buying them online there is a $15 surcharge

Joan, the seats are just hard and since they're tall (especially towards the back), most people's feet don't touch the floor). There are rungs to put your feet on, but they arent especially effective. They aren't the worst seats in the world (Studio 54 rear mezzanine has that dishonor in my book), but they're far from comfortable. Still, if you have something thin but cushy to sit on (a coat being the obvious choice), you'll be okay.

I'm ushering at BAM now, They have the new seats in place in the gallery at the Harvey and they are comfortable.

That's great news that they are fixing these. I've never been very comfortable in these seats, but the sight-lines are excellent and the Harvey is definitely one of my favorite venues in the city (It feels like you've snuck into an abandoned theater to watch the show).
I grabbed all four tickets today and am very excited to see them all. I'm doing two on April 2nd, but have spread the rest out. It seems to be selling well too as several dates I couldn't find any tickets. If you want to go I wouldn't wait too long.

I'm so glad there are new seats up there... 3 hours X 4 shows with my feet dangling felt like a challenge. And thanks for the info on the sight lines... it's always looked like a very long walk up to that balcony so I was concerned about that too. This is what inpulse shiopping does for you. And budget issues.
And Wexy I will definitely say hello if I see you up there.

Hi, I was looking at Upper Orchestra seats (row S) or Gallery 1 seats (row A) at the same price, and was wondering if anyone who has sat in both can offer some advice as to which would be the better option. Thanks

Well after much debating I ended up getting tickets to Henry V as well. So now I will be seeing 3 of the plays (only missing Henry IV Part 2 which is not playing during a time I can go)
Of course I feel kind of bad because BAM doesn't let you exchange shows only times/dates/seats so I still had to keep 2 tickets to shows I can't go to and buy an extra ticket for Henry V.
However I did find out they accidentally gave me a member discount on top of a sub discount despite not being a member. Well after buying 2 shows I can't go to I don't feel too bad.
Also I've been calling the box office to get seats and the guys today told me the Gallery Seats are up 70 flights of stairs with no Elevator. Something to consider for people who have trouble walking. I will be seeing 2 of the 3 shows up there (got better seats for Richard II).

A lot of elderly patrons passed me going up that Stairway to Heaven for the Dutch Angels in America.
Walking down the steps was much more fun. I pretended I was Betty Buckley at the end of Carrie.

I was honestly so blown away by Druid's version of the history plays - "DruidShakespeare" - at Lincoln Center Festival this past summer that I'm not sure whether or not I need another stint of the history plays so soon thereafter. I also saw the Tennant Richard II at the Barbican a few years ago and was in the minority in thinking that it was just okay...
