Kitzarina I am with you. I got the Wicked soundtrack and heard it only once, since i was not impressed at all. But i am scared to say it out loud in the forum because it is so popular LOL.
I plan on giving it another try though, maybe it's one of those scores that grow on you.
Take care

Oh and I'm not offended. If you dont want to answer, dont answer- Thats all. Everything is bound to get repeated sometimes- I was just curious.

Stephen Sondheim get three measly votes? and only one for a show that is not GYPSY? And I assume that you all love GYPSY because of Sondheim's lyrics, right? You all need to listen to things that were recorded before you were born.
Try:
SWEENY TODD
A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC
COMPANY
FOLLIES...
any version of these shows is not to be without on a desert Island.

I would want a mix tape of Sondheim with all my favorites of his classic scores.

wicked
wicked is a little over rated, but i can't get enough of it. i just play certain songs over and over. usually 3, 4, 11, 16. anything with idena belting. 16 is my favorite, and defying gravity is way overrated. every time i hear track five i want to shoot myself. and on march of wich hunters, does anyone else feel like they're suddenly in a musical about pirates, when that woman says "the marrrrch of wich hunnnterrrrrs!"?

I definately think Wicked is something that grows on you. The first few times I listened to it, it was just ok, but the more I listen the more I enjoy it. Forget only choosing five cast recordings copy your entire collection onto an IPod (Or as much as you can) and don't tell anyone!
My avatar is a reminder to myself. I need lots of reminders...

Sueleen, you're forgetting Into the Woods and Passion. Those are Sondheim's best, and should never be forgotten on a desert island!
