One of the greatest American comedies opened on Broadway December 14, 1936 - YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman. Even better, the play is still performed and it still makes people laugh.

He literally just commented on my thread about Parade and mentioned three musicals that premiered before the Great Depression.
