Went to first preview tonight
pretty great stuff for the first night, every member of the cast is doing exciting work and Peter Mark Kendall has a difficult task making us feel empathetic for a person who has done some questionable things and believes some equally questionable things. Eva Kaminsky crushes every line for laughs as the manager of the Hobby Lobby where everyone works and Ignacio Diaz-Silverio makes an impressive off-broadway debut as a younger character who the less revealed about the better
Oliver Butler brings a somewhat different sensibility to Samuel D Hunters work, it feels a bit more stylized and had video design which isn't typical in productions of Hunters work but was a welcome change, seeing as Butler has been Will Eno's primary collaborator for several years this almost had shades of a Eno play but with all the trademarks of a Sam Hunter play (religion versus humanity)
If you enjoyed Case For The Existence of God you should enjoy this as well
ran about an hour 45 without intermission

Saw it this weekend and really enjoyed it! I was a little apprehensive, as I loved Case for the Existence of God, but was pretty disappointed in the writing for the film version of The Whale (though I do wonder if I'd like the stage version better). But I think this play had all the same aspects I loved from Case with regards to the characters and their struggle to grapple with the circumstances they're in. Peter Mark Kendall was hugely compelling but the whole cast was quite excellent across the board. It did feel a little long in some moments, and I think I preferred Case better overall, but this was well worth the watch.
A question for those that have seen it (minor spoilers):
What do you think is the significance of the corporate video playing on TV and when it switches on from the medical tape? The timing definitely seems deliberate but I couldn't make sense of it, especially in the later scene with Alex staring at it in a dark room. It seemed very ominous but I couldn't tell if it was meant to be a metaphor for God or purgatory/hell or something else. Or maybe the fact that it's unknown is the point?

anyone seen any discount codes for this?
it doesn't seem to be selling all that well, particularly on many weeknights

I saw this last night, and it's easily one of the best productions I've seen since theaters reopened in 2021. The entire cast is terrific, but Peter Mark Kendall and Anna Barishnykov are truly astounding. I'd recommend it to anyone.
Last night's performance was not full, and there was a decent amount of papering. I believe rush tickets are available.

I noticed online that is up at TKTS tonight but specifies "cash only" for ticket purchases. Not sure I've seen that for awhile nor would I have had the cash on me for it had I not first looked online.
Wanted to mention in case others are planning on going this route to see the show before it closes.
3/4 Update:
Strange. It is up again, but the "cash only" requirement isn't there. Maybe it was just a fluke or error the other day.

Kept going back and forth on this one and decided that if I am doing that, I probably need to see it. Got a ticket for next week.

I enjoyed this quite a bit this evening. Thought-provoking play that is very well-acted. Got a seat via TodaysTix, fifth row just off of center. Great value for $50.

Saw it this afternoon. What appears to be the final performance. Very glad I saw it. Very thought provoking and will probably be on my mind for a few days to come. Extremely well acted. Well written also. However, part the teenager's story was obvious about 10 minutes in. But I was happy it didn't end the way you may have thought it would. And party of me was thinking it wouldn't as the play progressed.
