Any buzz on Romeo and Juliet?

Has Saheem directed a good Shakespeare in the Park?

Also, I can't imagine sitting through a three hour R&J and then having to sit through a wedding.

THE WHOOPI MONOLOGUES LincTix on sale today

Fred Mason said: "Is this going to be worth it? Has anyone read the play?"

It really is simple for me.  If Kara Young is there, so am I :)

Drama League Awards 2026 on TDF

“I think don’t realize how political Tonys are. Touring voters will vote for the show that will sell best in their market. It’s not about what’s deserving. It’s also how many co producers on a show vote for their own show.
Ragtime has already announced a tour. It has commercial edge though it’s not the most thought provoking revival.

I feel like “road voter” myth has been debunked many times now. Plenty of things that

WHAT HAPPENED WAS... starring Cecily Strong & Corey Stoll - Audible x Together

I didn't see a previous thread going for this show yet and I haven’t heard much buzz. The play is an intimate gem from the 80s, later adapted into a film in ‘94. The play itself is about a date between two lonely coworkers at a law firm. It’s a simple set up, but I found it a lovely piece of writing and really enjoyed the way the play slowly reveals its characters. Great direction and a beautiful performance from Corey Stoll. However, I cannot believe everyone isn&r

OFFICIAL TONY AWARDS ELIGIBILITY 2025-26

Am I right that because Alden Ehrenreich isn't above title and nothing was noted, that means he's officially Featured for Becky Shaw?

Correct.  For all Second Stage shows, all company members are listed below the title.

Ben Platt & Rachel Zegler - THE LAST FIVE YEARS (NYC/LA)

These are the expanded and revised orchestrations.  I think the album sounds pretty great for a live album.  The mix feels good and both leads sound great.  Can't believe they recorded and mixed this in less than a month!

John Proctor Tease - any ideas?

My guess is a commercial West End transfer from the Royal Court.

KENREX - (Lucille Lortel Theatre, Off-Broadway)

I grabbed a $32 rush ticket for this at the box office at about 6 last night and got a great seat in the second to last row of center orchestra.  My only complaint about the seat was that I was right in front of a bunch of creatives and one was typing notes pretty loudly on their computer.

As for the show itself, I really enjoyed myself.  I was recommended this show by a few friends who saw it in the West End and were effusive in their recommendations.  I probably

Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 4/5/26

I must admit the Beaches numbers are higher than I was anticipating. Not great, obviously.

JOE TURNER'S COME AND GONE 2026 Previews

I saw a couple reports on reddit, but none on here so just thought I’d share my two cents.

I really enjoyed this for the most part.  I’ve seen a few August Wilson plays at this point and really enjoy any opportunity to see his incredible plays live.  The use of language and imagery and magical realism is all so delicious to me.  We’ve also got Ruben Santiago-Hudson, who is somewhat of an August Wilson whisperer, giving an incredible performance h

THE FEAR OF 13 Previews

Lindsey Ferrentino stop adapting documentaries for the stage challenge.

I saw this last night and thought it was fine.  I had heard that cell phone ringing had been a problem throughout previews so I'm thrilled I didn't hear a single phone go off.

I had mixed feelings about the show itself.  It's definitely a compelling true story, but i don't know that it's compellingly dramatized.  So much of this play is direct address which I find to

NYT: ‘Well, I’ll Let You Go’ Review: A Fog of Grief (Critic's Pick)

Looks like their Instagram is teasing a return.  Loved this last year and may just have to go back.

Ben Platt to lead UK premiere of MIDNIGHT AT THE NEVER GET

Loved this back in 2018 Off-Broadway.  It’s not life-changing but the music is excellent and it’s a very bittersweet musical.  I think Platt is perfect for the role—a gay crooner in the 60s in his feelings.  I’m tempted to cross the pond.  It’s set in a nightclub and plays out a la Hedwig with a concert in a club and dramatic moments interspersed.

Saw Mexodus — blown away!

Couldn’t this theoretically go into the Jones? Another two-person musical did quite well there a few years ago.

MARJORIE PRIME Previews

Loved this the other night.  This play has truly aged like a fine wine.  The performances are across the board impeccable with Cynthia Nixon really walking away with the show.  June Squibb is pitch perfect and Danny Burstein will break your heart.  I was also impressed with Christopher Lowell in a challenging role.  I thought there was a bit of “uncanny valley” in his performance.  His voice and movement were very effective to me.  As a fan of hi

Are There More New Musicals Coming?

Agree with Kad.  Also, for the last decade or so, all of the best musicals were coming from Off-Broadway (Hamilton, Fun Home, DEH, The Band’s Visit, A Strange Loop, Kimberly Akimbo), but with the non-profits struggling since the pandemic, they’re really looking for musicals that already have investors attached who are willing to pour money into these projects/nonprofits.  It’s too expensive otherwise.  These organic Off-Broadway hits feel like a thing of

Ego Nwodim at Lincoln Center's comedy series (with Seaview)

I guess it doesn’t matter much, but I saw this tonight and had a great time. It was essentially her as Alexa (the Amazon assistant) airing out her grievances of being a digital assistant. There was lots of audience participation which were probably my favorite bits of the evening. I’ve really missed Ego on SNL and this really made me very happy.

SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS with Raul Esparza @ Lincoln Center

Really enjoyed this tonight as well. Ran 2:20 with an intermission (though intermission ran a little long). The musical is a bit of a weird one but felt lucky to hear it with such a great cast. It seems like a lot was added for Susan and I wish we could get a recording of that new material especially since Lizzy sounded wonderful. Huge shoutout to Noah J. Ricketts with the swoonworthy vocals. The duet moments between the two of them were highlights. A very nice night out.

The Public Theater - Ethan Lipton’s “The Seat of Our Pants”

I’m definitely in the minority here, but I quite enjoyed this.  I think I was primed to like this—a casual fan of the play who enjoyed the LCT production a few years ago, but has no attachment to the source material.  It is certainly not perfect.  It’s a weird and quirky musical which we don’t see a lot of in this day and age. That combined with an exceptional score made this a win for me.  Having the orchestra on both sides of the stage really
