A CHORUS LINE OPENING NIGHT!
A CHORUS LINE OPENING NIGHT!#0

On a whim, I decided to check telecharge to see if they released any tickets for tomorrow night's opening night performance of A CHORUS LINE (I have been lucky with this for other shows in the past) - and they did, and I got one! Sure, it's in the last row of the mezzanine and I had to pay full price, which I know I'll be kicking myself for later on, but somehow I think it'll be worth it
Last I checked they had two or three left so if you're interested - hurry!

And on a side note, if you've seen the show already, could you let me know whether or not I'll be able to see clearly from the last row of the mezzanine? I remember this theatre as not being very big but I've never sat in the back of the mezz there...
Thanks!

Posted: 10/4/06 at 4:42pmI have not been in the mezz at that theater but yes it is very small. It is also only 11 rows so I am sure you will be able to see fine. Have fun.

Another question (geez I'm full of them today!)...
I'm hoping, fingers crossed, to be able to take some pics tomorrow, if not in the theatre than definitely outside and at the stage door (again, fingers crossed I'll even be able to get close enough).
I'd love to share them with anyone who's interested...How do I insert pictures into a post, just add them into where it says 'Optional Image'? Maybe I'll just post a link to a Shutterfly page or something...

I didn't mean during the actual show.
If it's so illegal, I wonder why nobody gets in trouble for it.
But anyway, yay

Posted: 10/4/06 at 6:00pmEnjoy the show - I saw it three times in San Francisco - loved, loved, LOVED IT! And if there is a red carpet you might want to snap some shots there too - opening night for Chorus Line should be huge for star gazing!

but do you think i'll even be able to see anyone on the red carpet or do you think it'll be too packed with press people...?

I looked...and I considered it...but I just couldn't bring myself to shell out $120 for rear mezz seats.
As I said yesterday: Damn you rich folk with your premium cable and your brand name cereal!

Not sure jess - I am not familiar with the theater set up in NY. I would just check it out, just in case. I mean - you are going to be there anyway, what the heck!

I am faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar from rich, believe me (I make a weekly salary). But I allowed myself to buy this ticket on the condition that I won't buy tickets to anything else for another two months (let's see if I can actually stick to it!)
And hahaha no, I don't have premium cable either, sadly...

Ahh, it's good to treat yourself to something extravagant every once in a while.
Unfortunately, I've been doing that too much lately, so this isn't going to be one of them for me.

Sammy Williams, and much of the OBC will be at the opening night and will come out at curtain call.
Sammy is good friends with my drama teacher and will be visiting my drama class on monday, but I think it will be really cool to see the OBC onstage with the revival cast. Have fuN!

It's actually illegal to take pictures in a theatre at all -- during the show or not. People do it all the time, but if you do it before the show starts, ushers are liable to snatch your camera. Just FYI.
I was supposed to go.... and Im bummed that I cant now. Unfortunately, there was a death in the family and tomorrow night is the wake. Even if I went for the first part of the wake and slipped out, I still wouldnt make it to the theatre in time.
I expect full reports on everything I missed!

"remind me why you're so concerned about this?"
I'm not "so" concerned about anything. In my personal opinion, you're no older than 16. You talk like you're 12. And I'm not concerned about it, I just was saying that you were acting very immaturely. Saying "if it's so illegal" is what a 5 year old might say. And your last thread didn't turn to "crap", people just had a little...fun...with it.
Relax... and sorry for the insults.

Posted: 10/4/06 at 8:06pmBTW, in respose to the red carpet question, there will be a press pen. The press will be (mostly) contained behind/in those barricades. Celebrities will be taken that direction into the theatre so as to walk through the press line. Mostly everyone else will go in another door further down the line of front doors so they wont get in the way. They usually like to keep the press area moving, so between the stars, the press agents and the press, don't plan on being able to get too close. Remember too, there isnt a lot of room in front of the Schoenfeld. There will be quite a bit of security and police keeping the people moving so they don't block up the street.

and if i can't get pics, expect a full report tomorrow
btw - ACTOR, if you're not concerned, then stop commenting so much...let it rest.

Posted: 10/5/06 at 7:46amJess, have a great time at the show tonight, and on a side note, if you are still interested in that theatre group, count me in. Sounds great.
re: A CHORUS LINE OPENING NIGHT!#24
Posted: 10/5/06 at 8:44amOk, I understand why you can't take pictures before and during the show, but why is it illegal to take them afterwards?
