Well, even if she wanted to, there are other business factors involved like insuring the performers...I'd love to see Lansbury back on Broadway but she really would probably need to do it in the next season or so, if its going to happen...

What if they split the role for two grande dames (who might be able to handle four if not eight performances a week), like Christine in Phantom or the kiddies in Les Mis, Festen, etc.?

And what does that do to Tony eligibility?

Yes, but Angie is 80 years old. I don't think that there is much kicking left for her, physically anyway.

Now this sounds like really cheesie casting, but think about it: Zha Zha Gabor as Madame Armfelt. Someone who knows about sleeping around for jewels.
