I know there are several Broadway New York stores, but I think a nice addition would be a Museum/Store/Tony Awards centre on 5th Ave.
When I visit Times Square/5th Ave - I love visiting all the unique shops. Toys R Us was a very nice addition.
Imagine a Broadway shop, with one floor having merchandise from past and current shows. Maybe even live music every now and then, and special events for Cast Recording signings and new show promotions and such.
Second floor is a museum with lots of old props, playbills, costumes, photos, etc. Included in the museum is a Tony section with info kiosks, historical information, and TV clips of memorable moments.
Call it "The Playbill Store" or something of that nature.
Just a thought...
Oh my God, I'm in heaven already! When does it open?

I think it would be more appropriate than that stupid Hershey store.

There used to be a "Broadway" museum in the Minskoff Alley between 45th and 44th Street. I don't know how long it was there or what happened. Anyone ever go or know why it closed.
The best Broadway can get is an occasional exhibition at the performing Arts library at Lincoln Center or the Museum of The City Of New York.
It would be nice to take over the Times Square Theatre or the Liberty and make a theatre Museum .
That Hershy store should really get the boot. It sucks. There's nothing special in there at all.
They definitely need a Broadway store.
Ditto.
I personally like the Hershey store. They place cool music.
The 5th Ave. Disney Store used to be a very special place for me to visit, used to love going there. Now it is crap. They have taken down decorations to make room for t-shirts. They did away with the art gallery to bring in more stuffed animal plushes. The store lost its Magic - I have no reason to go anymore. Tear it down - let my Broadway Store/Museum idea move in.

I think you have an absolutely brilliant idea. It would be terrific to have a history of theatre right there. And memorabilia also. I just found an old Aspects Of Love Poster and I can't wait to have it framed. They could also have video presentations you could see. I hope someone with money is reading this thread.
If there is a Broadway store, I would be first in line to get in. Yes, the Broadway store should take over Hershey's.
And in Madame Tussand's wax museum, there should be Broadway people. The only people on Broadway who they had is Matthew Brodrick and Nathan Lane in front of a Producer's logo. I wish they had other people.
I'm surprised that NYC doesn't have a Broadway museum. There's all that stuff, and no museum.
Wax museum also has Barbra Streisand.
Hey, that's not bad...
A wax museum of Broadway folk. Hmmmmmmmmmmm
No wait, bad idea, we'd see broadwayguy2 running down the street with all the cute boys. Why is Adam Fleming so stiff?

I bring out the best in you broadwayguy2!
They have many stores like that on Fifth avenue and 47th street.
I will find you the name.
Go to the NYC AND COMPANY Visitor center 52nd and 7th avenue.
They also have the kiosks you asked about.
