Posted: 7/20/08 at 1:51amI think you stand a greater chance of making an impression with "A Little Princess". I am always a fan of taking the greatest gamble. (I know, it's easy for me to talk when it isn't my money.) If you tour PETER PAN, you may get a lot of audiences expecting the old Moose Charlap version. (This is partly why the Yeston/Kopit PHANTOM became a regional hit--audiences who came expecting the famous Andrew Lloyd Webber version. I hasten to say "partly" because I find the Yeston/Kopit PHANTOM far superior to the Webber.)

Posted: 7/20/08 at 1:54amMight I suggest producing an original musical that doesn't already have several different versions? Or a revival of a well known musical? Both Peter Pan and A Little Princess already have several different musical versions with one being the most popular and the others never making as much money.

In your original post you said that:
"The tour will be launched with a professional cast (Equity - NY Casting) with more than $100,000 put into set design and construction."
Now you're saying that set, costumes and props will only be $24,500. And how much is it going to cost you to have those equity actors from New York sit around Bloomington, Indiana just to do 1 to 3 shows a month?

I love the story of A Little Princess, and I would definitely go out of my way to see any musical version. I probably would not go out of my way to see ANY Peter Pan version- especially if it was not the classic one.
