But every little bit counts, right?

The original cast.
What a great number...even with my grainy black and white version, this gets me every time! It was such a fun, holiday number, but then Promises Promises has always reflected Christmastime to me. I usually play it the same time every year, and can't wait to see the new version April 3rd.
Goosier and poosier!

That is a genius number ... pure and simple.
love, Love, LOVE it! Joyous and brilliant - let's hope that the original choreography is replicated in the upcoming revival of PP.

I think I've finally figured out which one Kelly Bishop is.

I LOVE DONNA MCKECHNIE, aka Miss Wiplash 1969.
I love this number, but I hope they don't try to recreate the choreography. Based on the other attempts in recent revivals, to me, the effect is the same as once a month's grainy video- a copy of a copy of the original is not the same.
This. Number. Is. Genius.
If they try to recreate the original choreography for the revival I will be deeply offended. It's just too brilliant to try and change.
I think I've finally figured out which one Kelly Bishop is.
Kelly is the one wearing the black skirt suit with the white ruffled shirt between Baayork Lee and Donna McKechnie during the final moments of the number.
A friend who worked on GILMORE GIRLS asked her this for me a few years ago.
NOTE: She's also the main (and tall) showgirl all in white with the long white fur boa in the "Twenty-Four Hours a Day" number (from GOLDEN RAINBOW) seen at the 1968 Tony Awards.
Donna McKechnie is simply stunning in this. Lada Edmund was fabulous as well, but I wish I was alive during that time so I could have seen Donna do this live. Sigh...
When Rob Marshall directed and choreographed Promises, Promises for Encores, he recreated the Bennett choreography for "Turkey Lurkey Time". I'm not sure anything can be as exciting as watching Donna McKechnie perform it in that 1969 Tony Awards video, but it still was a highlight of that evening. Rob Ashford is very talented and can create kinetic and exuberant numbers, but boy do I not envy him with the task of creating new choreography for that song in the upcoming revival.

Thanks, Brody. That's who I thought she was!
Do we know for sure he's creating new choreography for it?
Thank for sharing! I love that video!
Anyone wanna surprise me by posting the Tony performance from the cast of Grind led by Ben Vereen? I have on VHS somewhere, but it's lost.

What a hot mess that was.
Brilliant!
I wish Miss Della Hoya looked after my petty cash.
