I remember seeing that at the Little / Helen Hayes...I seem to think it was not the first time it had been done on Broadway. I loved it, especially the last 5 minutes...Just in Time, Make Someone Happy, The Party's Over. Three great songs that had so much emotion in them. The whole show was wonderful, though.

It was first presented on Broadway in 1958.

The 1958 Capitol version was a single LP highlights version, with this later appearance (1978 maybe?) yielding the full double LP set. I've never heard the original but love the double album.
AMAZING to see the video, they are a radiant duo and you can tell they're truly having a blast.

Fascinating. I haven't finished it yet. Funny- it has my three favorite songs of all time, sung in a row - lonely town, lucky to be me and some other time. Brilliant lyrics with incredible music by Bernstein. Thank pj.

Silly me. When I was a kid I thought they were married!
They collaborated on some of the best shows and films ever created!

Once I was working at the Barnes And Noble store by Lincoln Center and Betty Comden came in. While I was helping her and ringing up her purchase, I told her that she and Adolph Green were among the reasons I moved to New York. She smiled and asked why, and I told her that they always made New York sound so wonderful, and I had learned it was true. She gave me a big, warm smile and said, "Don't tell anyone you saw my hair like this."
Well-well-well-what-do-you-think-of-that-I-have-nothing-here-to-pay-my-train-fare-with-only-large-bills-fives-and-sevens....
