Hi, is there a ATOTC rush available when the show opens in August? Thanks.

God, I hope so. I really want to see this but I'm not willing to pay more than $30 or $40.

According to another thread, on page 2, there will be a rush for $27...
That is correct. However, I don't know if they are going to be offered during previews. I am going tonight and will see. My first stop is going to be the box office and if they are not selling them then I am sure there are some seats for tonight's first preview on TKTS.

I plan on doing student rush this sunday, what time should I get at the theatre?
Well I went last saturday 15 minutes before curtain and got one in the front row for $27 so anytime should be fine I think.

Except for Saturday evening performances, there's student rush when the box office opens, according to playbill.com. I'm curious, did you rush for the matinee, Mark E?

Has anyone actually tried for a Saturday night and been denied? I was wondering if they are sticking with the no-Sat. night policy through previews or if they'll only really start being sticklers on Sat. nights once they open and are (hopefully) selling more tickets.
Ye it was the matinee i saw it, and i saw Gypsy on the night for $27. Cheap day lol

Is there a better way see shows as a student??
I'm also curious if people have been denied rush for Sat evening. I know it's only in its first week of previews, but it was selling at 77 percent capacity, if I remember correctly. I suppose it could be packed on a Saturday night.
You're looking for better than $27??
Unless you pay to join a papering service, student rush is THE cheapest way to see shows. Most of the time, the seats aren't even horrible.
TDF is probably second because the tickets are guaranteed, but as a TDF member, as I was counting down the days until I got my grad school ID so I could do rush again.

Oh no, I meant that rhetorically. I think 27 dollars is great!

Although to think of it, I think Boeing Boeing had some 20 dollar rush box seats, but I've only heard bad things about them. South Pacific, I believe, also has 20 dollar tickets, but there's the problem of LCT registration...
Boeing-Boeing's box seats aren't rush, because they can be purchased in advance. They're just horrible. They don't have a student rush.
South Pacific has a student rush outside of the LCT StudenTix, but they are subject to availability, so when the show is sold out, as it has been for months, there are no rush tickets available.
FYI, Tale of Two Cities just sold me two student rush tix for tonight (a Saturday evening performance) for $27. They told me they're front row, center, but they're partial view. I'm hoping it's not too bad; more after the show on what it means in this case.
Re: Boeing-Boeing. I did the $20 box seats a few weeks ago. If you can get them to put you in the box seat that's the furthest one back from the stage and the closest to the edge, it's not bad. You can catch everything by kinda leaning out a bit toward the stage.
The front row center are hardly your typical "partial view". There are a couple of places where someone is lying on the ground that you can't see and a couple of things that happen on the second level that aren't necessarily fully visible. But they're GREAT seats.
Just a word of warning...if you're in 107 or 108 don't lean too far forward. The conductor likes to flick the baton back a bit. Even sitting all the way back, my roommate and I were a little in fear for our eyeballs. LOL.
Good to hear the seats should be good. We're in 114 & 115, on the house-left side of the center section... so our eyeballs should be safe. Haha. But thanks for the heads-up anyway.
Enjoy the show! :)
