A question about Hamilton SPOLIER

Why did Burr Shoot him?

When I watched the musical I noticed he was jealous and never understood Hamilton's success

If that's all you noticed, you weren't paying attention.

To Burr, all his adult life he was a continuous "also-ran", always in the shadow of Hamilton. He takes his personal failure out on Hamilton, when he supports Jefferson over him.

Thank you for the spoiler warning. You never know who hasn't caught up with the last 200 years of history yet.

It's also not a spoiler when it's revealed at the end of the first song.

plus lin manuel sang that song 7 years at the white house (and the event occurer 212 years ago) so it's even less of a spoiler

To say nothing of milk ads from a decade ago.

You're certainly not expecting the answer to one of those questions that historians have debated for years on a chat board??!?

The musical provides some motivations for Burr (and it's not subtle about them) but a work of historical fiction is still fiction, and any history is dependent upon "who lives, who dies, who tells the story."
