OK. So, my boyfriend and I were lounging around, discussing revival possibilities (as is our wont). We had just finished watching CHICAGO and though how brilliant Ms. Zeta-Jones would have been in the movie version of the show which I like to call 'The Singing Fascists'.
Then we we got to talking about a revival and who would be great in it. Zeta-Jones would be terrific in that as well, but the one name that came up that got both of us excited was Christina Aguilera.
Two qualities about her make me thing she's perfect for the part. She's trashy. No matter what, we have to believe that Eva slept her way to the top and, no matter what kind of varnish you put on her, she's still a calculating whore underneath.
Secondly, I want an Evita who is a reckless singer, someone who will go for the notes no matter what it takes.
There. I've said it. I'm now officially out of the closet about it.
That and how Saraika Jessica Parker is PERFECT for Charity.
