Lead actress is too packed this year for Charlotte, I think...
what do you all think about Mara Davi getting a nomination?
I think Charlotte getting a nomination at all is pretty slim. Deirde, Mara, and Natalie all have good chances of getting nominated(Not all three).

I think that everyone in the show should be placed in the featured category, as it is an ensemble work in my view.
Charlotte wil NOT get nominated in my opinion, esspecially if she is considered leading, theres to much competition in that catagory, I think leadiong actress will be Christine Ebersole (who will win) Audra Mcdonald, Kristin Chenoweth, and then There is Debra Monk, Ashley Brown, and Stephanie J Block, but it is a bit to early to tell.

The only one I can see getting a nomination is maybe Natalie, if she's lucky. From what I hear, Charlotte is horrid, and compared to the others in the category, I can't imagine her even being considered, as StephenSondheimWHOO said. I also don't think Deidre is as strong as Kelly Bishop was to really stand out in nominations. Also, though Mara is fantastic in "At The Ballet", there's really not much else to Maggie. As great as she is, the part is nowhere near the meatiness of some of the other roles that'll be nominated.

I would call Debra Monk featured... though I would be hard pressed to pick another female lead in Curtains.
one year they gave an award to the cast of la boheme...maybe they will do that again this year for the cast.

Also Laura Bell Bundy for Legally Blonde. I think out of Deidre, Natalie and Mara, Natalie has the best chance of gettig nominated.

Deidre hasn't exactly earned strong reviews from the critics or fans. IIRC Chryssie Whitehead (what an unfortunate last name) was singled out in several reviews, but if any ALC cast members get nominated, I'd pick Cortez and Tam as the most likely nominees.

"Chryssie Whitehead (what an unfortunate last name)"
I've been thinking the same thing.

Natalie is my guess.
I personally never got the big deal about Natalie. Not that she's horrible by any means, but I just don't see why she got singled out by so many reviewers.
Otherwise, I would hope for Charlotte and expect Tam.
I wish they'd ALL get nominated, but I'm not sure ANY will...
Jason Tam for Featured Actor maybe
The thing about Charlotte is that she has been a working actress in new york for over 10 years now, with almost no recognition, so some people expect her just to be nominated for that, but I think that she is just not good enough as Cassie, I would have awarded her the replacement Tony for Roxie (if she was elegiable) she is just not a Cassie- she just cant sing it, and for me she was not good enough.

In my opinion, Jason Tam is the only possibility, and he richly deserves a nomination. He was wonderful and the highlight of the show.
No one from this show deserves a nomination.
Nonetheless, Charlotte can act and Charlotte can dance, and if not everyone loves her singing, at least she reigns in the other two areas. I hope she gets a nod, because I think its time for this unrecognized talent.
Here are my guesses:
BEST REVIVAL (won't win)
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS (Natalie Cortez)
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR (Jason Tam)
That's it. And those are hopeful. I don't see this production walking home with any Tony's.
Considering the fact that this production is an exact duplicate of the original production, I don't see any reason why suddenly Cassie would be considered a Featured role. She was Leading before, and she'll be considered Leading now. Plus, by having Charlotte considered for Leading Actress, it opens up more space for other actresses in A CHORUS LINE to get nominated. I have not seen this production yet, but from the New York Times review, the only performer that was singled out with a positive notice was Jessica Lee Goldyn. If the Times has the power it once did, she could be considered for a nomination. Cortez and Goodwin are going to be (and have been) compared to Lopez and Bishop, and they clearly have not been singled out as better than or as offering a new (good) interpretation of the roles (same will go for d'Amboise). Since the role of Val was not nominated in the original production, I'd say Goldyn has a better shot.

It makes me happy to see that so many people think Natalie has a chance because as much as I love her, I don't think she'll get nominated. I think (and hope) that Jason will get a nomination, even if he doesn't have a huge shot at winning.
I think the best outcome though would be for some sort of ensemble award, as others have said. If they've done it before, it seems like a possibility for ACL.
ACL received a Special Tony Award for the ensemble in the original production. They won't do it again, seeing as this is just a group of replacements in the same production. The original cast were part of the creation of the show, and that's what made the Special Tony so meaningful.
