I agree with Al. I doubt that they would post that Adam is coming back and give a date of his return if there was no truth behind it. Either that or it is my wishful that its true
Heather Headley and Sherie Renee Scott should return as well for a big final farewell.
I was just rereading an oldish interview with Sherie Rene on broadway.com. She said something about her and Heather formerly being really close but that suddenly Heather severed all ties and said she regarded Broadway as "a pleasant detour." Anyone know what the hell went on? Heather's a diva?
Anyway, in light of that, I highly doubt Sherie and Heather would come back for Aida, although if they did, I would probably fly back to NYC to watch it all over again.
(PS. Once Idina's out of Wicked next year, and Jesse L Martin's on hiatus, Daphne's show closed, and Taye's doing...er...nothing...maybe if Rent can stay open long enough it's not too much to ask for a Rent reunion to close out the show?) :)
if they could pull that off ticket sales would probably keep it open for another 2 yrs
True. A girl can dream, though, no? ![]()
Out of curiousity, what was the reason the OBC got together at Studio 54 before? Charity? Or just plain fun?
Yeah--when I posted it I was sure, they wrote it as fact... but it is curious that no one else has mentioned it. I guess time will tell.
OMG !!!!!! And i miss seeing him for only 10 days, since I am coming to NYC on Sep. 15 !!!!

I love Adam and love Aida...but I'm not sure how I feel about this. I guess he just wanted to close the show, like he did with Cabaret. I saw him in Aida a week before his last show last May. I had seen him three times, and I had my "say goodbye to Adam playing Radames" thing...also, at Seth's Chatterbox, he was VERY clear that he had no intention of ever returning to Aida (or Rent.)
This is one of my favorite shows, and I'd love to see it one more time before September. (Saw it last night with Cheyenne Jackson...he rocked!)...but, honestly, don't know if I really WANT to see Adam again.
I wouldn't be surprised if Rent announced it was closing next and Adam came back to be the final Roger...
Personally, I've never cared for Adams voice (he always sounds like he's constipated!) - I'd prefer that Will Chase stayed.
Anyway, I am now crossing my fingers that HEATHER HEADLEY will join him.
I'm crossing my fingers with you CRP - I would love to see Heather Headley return as AIDA. Is it unheard of for her to come and relieve Deborah for say like a week as a special guest?
Maybe Will Chase has some other obligations and it's not all that deep?
UDJAT-
I definitely think there's hope. When broadway.com mentioned that Deborah extended her run through the summer, they never mentioned her exact end date. Either way, I doubt the understudy or standby will be brining the show to a close.
Funny thing is, Heather hasn't even seen AIDA since she left the show!! She likens the experience to seeing an ex-boyfriend with a new girlfriend and says she's just not ready. She did however see The Lion King afterwards and really enjoyed it.
Anyway, her HOME concert is in a few weeks and surely she'll be singing several songs from AIDA. Maybe the bug will 'bite' her azz and she'll decide to actually do the show's final performance.
I guess only time will tell. I think it's time for her to go back and reclaim her man. Hopefully the bug will bite hers and everyone elses that would want to see her come back. If this happens, you best believe I will be 1st in line to get my ticket.
awww i can't belive it's closing! and I haven't seen it yet!!!
today in the morning the channel 5 news also announced it and it was also in the blinking news thing. i really want to see Chayenne in it! and i dont think it would be possible with Adam returning
(but i still Love Adam)
CRP2000: ahh! ur killin me. i almost fell off my chair when i read that. not liking adam?!?!? *gasp* haha .. to each his own right!
i HOPE he will return!!!!!!!!!!!
haha, thegirlinthefrock, you know I agree with you.
GMF, I'm so upset that you're missing this only by a few days!! Now we can't carry out our glorious plan. ![]()
I'm seeing Adam at Chef's Theater in like two weeks though... so yay!
As for Adam coming back, it's finally hit me. I'm really excited, but quite surprised. He always seemed to make it very clear that he didn't want to return to Rent or Aida. Either he's getting bored, or he's had a change of heart. I sure hope it's the latter. And as for him closing Rent... I love him, you all know that, but does anyone think that at 33 (probably at least 34 or 35 by the time it closes) he'd be just a tad too old to play Roger? I mean, Roger's like 20. Just a thought, but I'd go see him! He has said several times however, that he'd only return to Rent if the full OBC did some sort of reunion. It seems like he was more closely bonded to both that show and that cast than he was to anything in Aida. Who knows? Whatever, I'm so happy about this!!! Still sad the show's closing, but this makes it really bittersweet.
Oh, and by the way, Adam's return has been confirmed by playbill.com as well.
Adam Pascal Returns to AIDA in June; New Solo Album in Works
I don't think I realized how much I didn't like Adam's voice until I heard Will Chase. But Adam sounds okay...when he's not pooping!

I personally think Heather should stay away from the finale. Deborah has already shown that she's a great AIDA and she should finish it out. It would be tacky on the producer's part to ask Heather to return for the finale.
Yeah - it would be kinda tacky if they asked Heather to come back. However, I'm curious as to whether it's something they're planning.
Anyone know the details behind Adam's return? Was it planned or did it have more to due with Will's contract ending?
I tend to think that the closing has probably been in the works for a while. I mean, the show hasn't been doing that well for some time now. I felt like it was going to be the first of the Disney shows to close, I just didn't see it being so soon. But there's probably been behind-the-scenes talk of it for a while... you know, you don't just decide one day to close a show. Just speculation, but if that's the case, I would guess he would've been in talks to return for a while. I'd think that there will be some big billing about being able to see *The original Radames.*
Anyway, that's totally speculation, but I'm seeing him the week after next with TheGirlInTheFrock. In the unlikely event that we get to meet him, maybe we can get some more info.
I hope since the show is closing he's more willing to sign autographs and take pics w/ fans than towards the end of his run.

Really? I met him after Aida last May and he was VERY nice and gracious to his fans. Took pictures and came out equipped with his sharpee.
He's usually pretty cool. I met him once after Aida and once after Cabaret. He was as sweet as could be. My friend met him once after Aida, and asked if he'd talk to me on the phone since I couldn't be there that day. Apparently there were a ton of people waiting for autographs and pictures, but he did it anyway.
