I still think if Andrew heard a piece of music that he liked, and knew exactly how to use it, I can't blame him for that. Stealing is when you actually know how to work with something, and make it your own. Copying is when there's something on the surface, but nothing inside. There's literally no difference between Andrew stealing a lick here or there, and a book writer stealing lines from the source material, or from other works.

Stealing: Lion King taking Hamlet's plot. (A better example wold be if some producer, unaffiliated with Disney decided to make a new Lion King production)

Firstly, there were anthropomorphised felines on Broadway in 1957 in "Shinbone Alley". Mel Brooks co-wrote the book so I suppose ALW will finally start acknowledging his contribution to "Cats"?

Secondly, the "Phantom" theme was totally absolutely ripped off from Pink Floyd's "Echoes" and there is no way that ALW being a rock-conscious British guy in his twenties would not have heard that album when it came out in 1971. Roger Waters could totally have sued and won but he doesn't need the money and it wouldn't hurt ALW's bottom line in the slightest, so he went all Tito Puente in "The SImpsons" and wrote an insulting song about him, from his "Amused To Death" album:

Lloyd Webber's awful stuff runs for years and years and years

I was not that impressed by The Circle of Life 360 - the internal edits in it were jarring and didn't give you the full sense of control of what you wanted to see. The School of Rock video was fascinating and there were lots of things to discover with the way it was planned and laid out. But, it was shot in a room and not as a live presentation to an audience. So, yes, it's not fair to compare. But, there it is.

I totally agree with what was said regarding Echo's and the main Phantom theme. Do I think Webber is incapable of writing an enjoyable show? No, I don't, hell there are even a couple of shows he has done that I enjoy. However, do I think that he steals from others? Yes, yes I do.
