And the article interviewing the writers about the new ending. I really loved this ending. I didn't love the beginning song - I wish the show just started with the Doctor song."
They got rid of Nino's song!? Oh that makes me so sad. That was the Highlight of Adam's performance for me. I had front row seats the second time I saw the show, and watching him singing from that close up was so amazing, he was so fantastic. I guess I can at least be thankful I got to experience it for myself. (Though it's a bummer that means I won't get a recording of it. Was looking forward to that.)

I was at the show tonight for the 4th time. They have made several changes. One of them, and the most notable was that they added "Thin Air" into the show. It was the first time I got to hear it and it was fantastic!!

oh thank you for the info! That makes me so happy to hear! I just was absolutely taken by that song and Adams performance of it. I hope it sticks around because I feel like that's a huge song to not include in the final product.

I actually went again, so I'm up to 5 so far...I think I may have a problem! ????
I'm a HUGE Phillipa Soo fan. This is also the first time I've ever been to a 1st preview of a show, so I'm loving getting to watch it change and evolve along the way. "Thin Air," being added back in was such a good move. I really hope they keep it!

Ameleigh - I agree, Phillipa is amazing in this show! I'm so curious - what else has changed so far over the 5 (!) times you've been?

Most of the other changes have been more subtle. Nino had been singing "Stations" solo, now the characters he's singing about each accompany him for a line or two of their story. Other small changes are relatively unnoticeable changes to some of the lines, Amelie's backpack is different, things like that. Things that probably wouldn't been known to someone who hasn't seen the show an obsessive amount of times ????????

Honestly that's disappointing to me! The only really big change is putting back in a song that used to be in the show? I'm hoping they have more ideas in store. I loved the show but not the opening song and I wish Phillipa Soo had a big song at the end. Curious to see what else they do before opening. If it doesn't change a lot I probably won't see it a third time, but I'll definitely get the soundtrack. I loved the music and now I'm so curious to hear the thin air song. Keep us posted here if you go back again please! :)

After listening to only a minute of the song posted earlier in this thread, what you've described is very much what I imagined.
I'll be going to the show for the first time at the very end of its preview period, so it's encouraging to read that they're indeed making some noteworthy changes!

Just curious as to how large of a part Young Amélie is? Is she only at the beginning? Or does she appear throughout with Philipa?

I wholeheartedly agree with everything you said. My biggest disappointment with the show is that Pippa does not have a big number, or any opportunity to really show the full caliper of her incredible talent.

Young Amelie is most prominent in the beginning of the show. However, she does come back several times during scenes with Phillipa throughout the show. They even sing a duet towards the end of the show.

I saw the March 17th preview - I had high hopes for this show but... I left the theater completely underwhelmed. I LOVE the film and IMO, feel it should've either stayed that way or the musical should've adapted it better.
The staging was cute, colorful but really, beyond that... if I hadn't seen the film, I'd have no idea what was going on. Someone else here mentioned the omission of the 11 o'clock number and the Elton John number. I'd have to agree - the Elton number was an attempt at 'funny' but it seemed out of place and unnecessary. The only bright spot (for me) was that New Haircut tune towards the end.
I had great seats in the balcony (one good thing I can say)yet, the band is placed in both balcony box areas - so I was level with the band. At times, it was kind of overpowering the vocals.
All in all - I wish I had gone with something else and almost feel bad for saying so.

About 1 hour and 45-50 minutes. No intermission.
Has anyone stagedoored? If so, which cast members tend to show? Also, how long have you been waiting for the cast members to come to the stage door after the show ends?

Judging from social media, Phillipa seems to have come out for every show except one where she posted on Twitter that she wouldn't be.
I saw the show tonight and was honestly underwhelmed. There are some great ideas there, but the show is missing a lot of charm and quirkiness that make the movie so great. Phillipa is extremely talented but I feel she is miscast. She lacked a certain charisma and oddness that I guess I wanted. I wish she would've stayed with Great Comet.
Adam was great, but he isn't given a ton of material.
It bothered me that no one uses a french accent and that the score never has hints of that sound. I know the composer didn't want to do that, but at least a little bit of a French influence would've been nice. Amelie escapes her mundane home to go live in Paris. I just wish we, as an audience, could've escaped to Paris too.
The cast is very good and the set is aesthetically pleasing, but I just wanted more.

She has come out all 5 times that I have seen the show. She doesn't take many pics, if any. She will sign for everyone though. She is so sweet!! Almost every cast member came out all the times I was there, including both of the young Amelie girls. They are all great and willing to sign. I have never seen Manoel, Tony, or Alyse come out at all. Timing depends on the night, but most are usually quick. Alison is always out first. Pippa is always the last one out.
I love these photos! I notice they pulled back Phillipa's hair a bit...the whole aesthetic looks really good...
But I'll say it again, I get annoyed when "quirky" or "unique" characters are glorified by the same people who shoot down the real-life "dreamers."

I am very indifferent towards this show. I went in knowing absolutely nothing about the plot, and I was not expecting it to be as dumb and fun as it was. After adjusting to the zany tone of the show, I still found it to be very "meh". The one moment that I truly enjoyed is the "He'll think that I'm a nun and I am not a nun" song in the sex shop. I feel that Soo is mostly relying on her killer voice, and nothing else. She does not have much of a stage presence when she is only acting, but when she sings she is absolutely captivating.

The movie is great, and the show has potential. But sadly, I have to agree with feeling completely underwhelmed when I left the theater. Like Honeymoon in Vegas and Bridges of Madison County, no one asked for an adaptation of this. I think it will have a short life on Broadway, unfortunately.
