That makes more sense than the plotless stage musical version.

All this couldn't be happening to a more deserving show.

So quick. But I think it's safe to say that this will be a "wait and see" scenario.

Why is the same reason the show will be a hit: the album. Everyone has decided it's wonderful Green Day has written a rock opera. And Green Day is huge.

That still doesn't mean there's a story. Well, I should say, at least in its premiere production.

There IS a story....but it may not be getting delivered well. The story has existed since the conception of the album -- no matter how loosely or poorly.

I am not often a fan of the movie musical, as I feel many of them don't do THEATER justice. However, I will reserve judgement until after I actually see the show. (Good lord, hurry up and get here April!)

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

The advance must be huge if they're already thinking movie version.

Actually, it was conceived and optioned as a film well before it was put onstage- the film was considered a possibility way back in 2005-2006, but it didn't come to fruition. The same plot was then adapted into a stage show, and the stage show's immense success has people reconsidering making the originally planned movie musical.
