Though the production was filmed with the original cast led by Robert Fairchild & Leanne Cope, and will be shown in movie theaters soon.
Great news! Just saw this in London and loved it. Hopefully the film will have home distribution as well
This is fantastic news! I've been dying to see the tour, hopefully with Allison Walsh, but this will be just as good (OBC at that).
YES! I absolutely love that all these brilliant shows are being filmed and released for the world to see. First She Loves Me, then Falsettos, and now this one! Yay!
Will this production be closing at a financial loss? Or was it always intended to play a year engagement?
I certainly hope for an Australian distribution--have heard such wonderful reports and from the little I've seen--fingers crossed.
Sweet Lips there is talk of an Australian production opening late next year in Melbourne. Announcement should happen in late December if all goes to plan
Oh I hope I'm still alive--thanks rosscoe[au].
When I booked tickets, months ago, I thought I was seeing the last matinee on September 30th so I believe it's actually extended its run.
A reminder that, in some parts of the world, these cinema screenings of the West End 'An American in Paris' are occurring soon, on Wednesday 16 May.

And apparently US screenings will be happening on 20 and 23 September.

Enjoyed seeing this the other day. There was a 'BroadwayHD Original' title card as part of the opening credits; I hadn't realised BroadwayHD had got involved with this. It bodes well for the recording becoming part of their catalogue eventually.
