I think that's the only good number in that whole rotten mess of a movie. John Huston was the wrong director, and all of the screenplay additions and changes are disastrous.
I've always wondered about the deleted song. Thanks!
It's really too bad Sony lost thos documentary. It looks to be really interesting.

I actually really like the film. It captures the spirit of the original strip perfectly, and is still quite entertaining.

its an ok movie...the remake i enjoyed better
Amazing - they got it wrong both times. The remake did "Easy Street" perfectly. It's too bad the remake wasn't longer but otherwise its far superior to the horrible original film version.

I remember that incredible documentary airing on TV shortly before the film was released. I also remember being upset that they reshot the entire "Easy Street" number. Just those few seconds we see of that massive production number on this documentary is all that survives. I wish the person who posted that clip on YouTube edits the title as its really NOT a 'deleted' scene as an 'alternate' version of the "Easy Street" number (that isn't really shown). Unfortunately, we will never see it in its full glory IF in fact it was completed, which I don't think it was. Seems they stopped production on the number after a few days of filming and after they saw it was too extravagant compared to the rest of the film.
While I found the ending of the original film, odd; I loved it overall. I found the remake too "clean"; you never believed Kathy Bates was more than a cartoon; whereas Carol Burnett was scary!

Speaking of Annie... This is classic!

Bill Cosby interviewing Aileen Quinn who played Annie in the film. Just watch the first few minutes, Cosby has issues!
There was also another musical number cut from the film. In "Let's Go To The Movies," there was a section where there were lookalike Graces as Rockettes.
Cutting this from the film was like cutting King Of Broadway from The Producers.

That Billy Cosby interview was extremely disturbing thank god Alieen saved it with a cute performance

Cutting what? "Easy Street" IS in the film. They just staged it differently for the version that appears in the film. The original version staged (and cancelled) was done outdoors (as seen on this documentary). The version they redid (and used in the film) takes place entirely indoors.
Here is the "Easy Street" number from the 1982 film-version of ANNIE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzSSiMa29AE

I wish they wouldn't have cut the first verse I love the remake so much better. The alternate version of the song looked better than the whole movie.

Thank you Brody, I was very confused, because this song and scene is in the movie.
I kept reading the posts, thinking I had dreamed it.
