hey I will be seeing it next week and was wondering what the current cast and shape is like right now.
I went to undergrad with the guy playing Rooster. He's pretty good. It's a non-Equity cast though, so...ya know.

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
The cast was mediocre. Hannigan was terrible, Rooster was average at best, and Lily St Regis was bland.
Annie was a great singer, but an absolutely dreadful actress- really bad.
I found Oliver Warbucks to be quite charming, if not as gruff as a Warbucks should be. Grace Farrell, though, was delightful.
The redeeming factor here is the material- which is really just spectacular. This production (directed by Martin Charnin, who managed to make it feel fresh) really brought out the strengths of the material and made you realize why this musical is such a classic. The song "Tomorrow" here took on a bouncy, more upbeat quality that I have never heard before, and it made the song seem fresh and new. The music is just so spectacular that it made up for the flaws in the cast.
The guy singing "Never Fully Dresses Without a Smile" was also quite good, though maybe its just the fact that I love that song.
Bottom Line: Mediocre cast with good direction performs a great musical.
Is "Why Should I Change a Thing?" still cut? I really liked it when I saw the equity tour a few years ago. I hated hearing that it was later cut, but it seems like Martin goes back and forth on its inclusion. Updated On: 1/18/09 at 01:54 AM
The girl who plays Miss Hannigan is like 25. I sh*t you not. This why I don't go to see non-Equity tours anymore.
