this alternated between boring and awkward-- not the fault of the production or the actors but its a very French play and a very 90s play that translates rather strangely. given the references i guess the characters are meant to be French, but no English-speaking friends in their 40s/50s sit around talking like this, and none of the relationships are remotely believable. and since not much actually happens for much of the show...
Cannavale is great at being hoarse and frustrated, and NPH is great at being smug and smooth, so both do well. But its Corden's show, and hes the only one really landing belly laughs, more than the dialogue deserves. I dont think he really makes Yvan make much sense (did Molina?) but hes at least entertaining.
the audience in the mezzanine today seemed bored with the play but enamored with celebrity, and hooped and hollered.

Honestly curious -- how were you able to differentiate whether they hooping and hollering for the play or for the actors -- or maybe both? Did you conduct a survey of everyone on the way out?

because of the talking, phone-playing, and general feeling of disinterest for most of the play, contrasted with the bursts of applause upon Corden's entrance and the bows.
