Also from Playbill.com:

"Sondheim alluded to a possible tour in a recent Bloomberg interview, saying "A big producing company I cannot name believes there's an audience for it. If they can make it work financially, they will tour it. We'll hear very soon." Production spokespersons could not confirm any information."

Will do. So sad that a great show like this is closing.
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen." Conan O'Brien

At least you got to see it. I had a whole trip planned to see it before its original closing date in September and I am, to say the least, gutted.
Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

re: ASSASSINATED: Closing Night on Broadway

From a purely marketing POV, given the anger with Bush right now over Iraq, the marketing of this would be reallly tricky. But not impossible.

let's hope that a tour can be worked out! I'm truly saddened by the closing of this fine show.

'..... NOW WHAT DO YOU THINK?'

'I think you should get another job!'

Such a shame! Absolutely loved the show!

"First of all when you've a gun...(points gun at audience; silence....) everybody pays attention.

I'm really gonna miss ASSASSINS. Thankfully the OBCR is coming out soon.

Iflit mentioned my favorite line. ( Darn). Does anyone have any idea when the OBCR will be out?

re: ASSASSINATED: Closing Night on Broadway

Britt, I think you just mentioned my favorite part. The dead silence as Guiteau swings the gun around is a perfect theatrical moment. And O'Hare was just brilliant.

Oh, man, I'm getting depressed. Only one performance left.

I wouldn't say most people couldn't get past it, just some.

"Have you considered shooting Franklin Roosevelt?"
