Dear Ashlee Simpson,
Please, please, please break into an improv Hoe-Down dance in the middle of the choreography if you forget a 'move' or if you mess up on your lines. Please, please, oh please bring attention to yourself if you think you flub'd.
You're an American Classic.
Thank you,
Adam

oh dear god.
Ashlee Simpson on Broadway is terrible.
I think she's an okay POPSTAR, but NEVER a BROADWAY star.

Personally, I'd rather see Homer Simpson play Roxie.
Are they going to change the lyric to
'the name on everybody's lip SYNCH is gonna be...... Roxie!'

Posted: 8/25/06 at 10:24pmI've also started a thread on this. I was so pissed off, I wrote "casted" instead of "cast." God this is sad.

Musical Theatre will be completely ruined if she actually is cast in CHICAGO. I mean, what's next, The reinvented Backstreet Boys in JERSEY?! I mean, c'mon!

Better A. Simpson than O. J. Simpson.
Now THAT announcement would be worthy of all this angst.

Posted: 8/26/06 at 1:52pmI have. He is just as good an "actor" as Ashlee Simpson is a "singer".

I don't think she has a Broadway voice either - but neither have many who've played that role.
At least she can dance, so she's way ahead of plenty of other Roxies.

If you're going to judge her dancing by a moment of panic and terror in front of millions of people, go ahead. But she is a dancer.
The real issue here is that she's about 20 years too young.

Posted: 8/26/06 at 4:38pmI actually think casting the Backstreet Boys in Jersey Boys would make much more sense than casting Ashlee Simpson or Haylie Duff in anything!

Dear Ashlee,
I'm so excited about the offical news of your casting in London. I'm only sad that you won't be gracing the US with your world class dance and singing routines. I can only pray you'll do such an outstanding job there that they would transfer you to the Broadway production. There in New York (as the last time) you can break into your improv Kangaroo/Ho-Down moves. We love you for it! We hope to see more.
You're an American Classic.
