Interested to see how this will work on stage. The beach scene in the movie is one of the most stunning sequences in all of film, shame to see a version of the story that doesn't have that.

I’m not sure this can ever live up to the movie. It was perfection in every way

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

Clearly aiming for fans of the film with the use of that iconic green gown, which I think is a mistake on paper. It’s one of the rare “they got it right the first time” adaptations of a novel, and it will be very difficult indeed to capture that same magic onstage. They’d be better off ignoring the film entirely.

One of my favorite books. The genius of the book is very much tied to the novel format. Although I liked the movie, it was not nearly as successful as the book. A stage adaptation even trickier.
