Hello there !
I would like to know something....
How works the hairspray in HAIRSPRAY (not the big one at the finale) ? What kind of product ? Water ? Real Hairspray ? Fog ?
Does it was reloaded at each performances ? Or did they use a new one ?
Where I could find/rent a kind of the same prop ?
Thank you for your answers !!!!

Just a guess that it was probably cans of compressed
or vaporized water.
Just don't use anything flammable.

It's called haze in a can. You can buy 'em from special effects companies. Here's a link to one.

Diva,
Do you remember who manufactured the cans for the show? It totally slipped my mind...
Yes, haze in a can, haze in a can, haze in a can. using actual hairspray is acking for a disaster.. stickiness aside. You could have someone accidentally sprayed in the eyes, you could cause issues with breathing.. too many risks and it may not show up in the light. water can quickly accumulate and pose a slipping hazard...
