Which actor or actress has the most broadway shows under their belt? My friend and I are trying to figure it out. I know it's not Joyce Chittick.

...what? That was kinda out of left field.

Interesting question. It makes me wonder whether you shouldn't separate into categories, though. I mean, perhaps one person has lots of credits on their resume because they get cast over and over...in shows that don't run. More likely, you're finding people that have replaced in lots of shows. I'd be more interested to know about actors who have a lot of credits but have been in long runs or stayed with their shows a good chunk of time, you know?
Sorry - rambling cuz I'm not really awake.
Philip Bosco and George S. Irving could be two strong candidates. Both have lots of Broadway credits stretching back for decades.
Jerry Orback (RIP) has sung and played in more musical performances than any other male musical comedy star...at least to this point. He originated "Try to Remember" way back when The Fantastiks opened, as well as 1981's 42nd Street with those classics.

I am sure there are others with more credits, but starring roles it may be hard to beat Alfred Drake.
His total 30. Starring/named roles: 24
Starring Roles: 15

I'll put forth Marian Seldes (in the still-living category). IBDB lists 25 shows.
I would second the mention of Alfred Drake. He was the go-to guy for decades!
Philip Bosco has 52 credits. With at least 15 starring roles.
I saw him in CCBB.
Anyone with more than that?
I know it's not Jonathan Groff.
