Marian Seldes has enormous staying power - from an article I found on Broadway.com:
Between 1974 and 1976, she racked up more than 900 performances in "Equus", first as the magistrate and later as the mother of the troubled boy at the heart of the play. For her more than 1,000 performance run in "Deathtrap" (as the playwright's murdered wife), Seldes landed a spot in "The Guinness Book of World Records" and to honor her, the producers elevated her name to above the title.

Andy! I'm falling down on the job. But yes, you're right. And she only actually went on for Aida an handful of times.

I saw Marian Seldes towards the end of those 1000 performances in DEATHTRAP and she was very strange indeed....
What is the name of the girl who was in OH! CALCUTTA! for hundreds of years? Was it Cheryl Hartley? She was certainly a record holder at the time.
Judy Holliday used to stay with shows for years; I think she was with BORN YESTERDAY for almost four.
Are there still people in the Broadway CHICAGO from the original cast, or have they all finally gone?

Jacob Brent in Cats for 6 years!
When someone blunders, we say that he makes a misstep. Is it then not clear that all the ills of mankind, all the tragic misfortunes that fill our history books, all the political blunders, all the failures of the great leaders have arisen merely from a lack of skill in dancing. - Moliere

Just a quick note: Yeah, Anthony was with Rent for a very long time, but Adam was with the show for a decent amount. He did off-Broadway, then Broadway for about a year and a half (he left 11/2/97) and then London. To nitpick, Anthony did the NYTW, then off-Broadway, then Broadway 'til 1/4/98, THEN the Angel Tour because he switched with Christian Anderson, and then he did London.
Carol Channing did over 5000 performances of Hello, Dolly! AND she didn't miss a scheduled performance?! Wow. That's really hard to imagine. And those few people who stayed with Cats for over a decade. Wow.

Well, I got some of that stuff... I just didn't know Anthony did the tour, and was a couple of months off on Adam's departure from Broadway. But *is proud* I was close!

J. Loefflelholtz has been the understudy for Mary Sunshine since the Chicago revival opened, and Michelle Robinson is stil with the show and she joined the cast soon after it opened as a swing...early enough to get on the cast recording, anyway!

Carol Channing is a goddess.
How about Marian Seldes in DEATHTRAP? She stayed with the show throughout its entire run. Was that 4 years?

D. Sabella was the original Mary Sunshine in the revival of Chicago and I think that I saw on the website where he is still there, although he may have left in between.
Also, when you listen to his voice on the recording, it's easy to picture Miss Piggy singing.....

No, he started in 1997 and the show certainly closed before that, so not 10 years.

D. Sabella left Chicago in between stints...R. Bean played Mary Sunshine for a few years. (And Sabella has since left again.) And they were both fabulous, IMO!

"Well, he played Thenardier the longest anyhow..."
No, he didn't. JP Dougherty played Thenardier on tour from 1988 (or '89) to 2003.
