But for some of those people, they have had just as much trouble really breaking into the industry.
I would rather have people who have performed before a large audience, or self-released an album and/or have at least peaked the interest of SOME industry insiders, than so-so performers with zero charisma or stage presence.

Broomstick Boy, I have to stop you when it comes to bad-mouthing Adam's technique. The boy can sing and it's obvious he's going for a certain style. Hitting the notes he hits makes the sounds they do--pure and simple. Sure, it is brighter than when a tenor is singing classically, but he is hitting them correctly. Lambert is perfectly placed, perfectly supported, and he knows what he's doing.
The tongue thing is irritating, I will give everyone that. However, it is a technique used to keep the larynx down (the thing in your throat you feel when you crack.) Julie Reiber does it, Idina Menzel does it (though she doesn't have the best technique), and Shoshana Bean uses a form of it where she simply lowers her tongue and pushes it to the front of her jaw. It's not just a thing he does with his tongue--it's how he was taught.

He did sing phenomenally and such a charmer.
Will probably make the Top 50.
I do not, however, foresee him winning the competition ONLY BECAUSE I fear he is too-similar to David Cook (moreso by image than sound)
It was so uplifting watching the San Francisco auditions (those are my streets!)

I liked him and thought he was adorable.
But what happened to the other AI thread? I don't see it?

NEVER MIND!
I just realized I'm on the main board, not the OT board.

^nahh he's not in group 1 :)
good thing because Danny and Anoop are in group 1 (and due to the annoying format change they made this year, only 2 guys from each group at most can get through)
bad thing because I want to see him perform liveee! haha
Hopefully he'll be in group 2

Posted: 2/16/09 at 8:20pmI thought he was pretty good, but I don't know. I mean, sure, all the riffing and stuff is great, but I don't trust someone who is THAT styled. I mean, I feel like he spends four hours a day trying to get "punk."

A good voice is a good voice, regardless of the person's vocal range. To knock a counter tenor down for being a counter tenor doesn't make much sense.
