Hey. I didn't see this posted anywhere but according to a few websites Adam Lambert made it to the top 50 (and hopefully TV semi-finals) on the next season of American Idol.
He definitely has my favourite Fiyero riffs so should be awesome.

He was the Wicked LA Fiyero understudy.
I am unfamiliar with him too, Tom.
He sings "Is Anybody Listening" in the Ten Commandments musical. His range is ridiculously insane. If he doesn't win American Idol the show has absolutely zero credibility anymore. Not that it had that much to begin with, but still.
Just jump to about three minutes in...

Anyone who dresses up like Alex gets points in my book
He was in the ensemble of 110 in the Shade at the Pasadena Playhouse, too.
Wow, this is like...the season of hidden musical theatre stars.
He has a wonderful voice, but that weird tongue thing he does bothers me.

Simon said he was "theatrical" ... lol well I wonder why... lol
but he was good :)
He just blew Von Smith's fake belting out of the water.
Disappointing. He should have done another song. I watched just 5 minutes of this show for him and I already lost interest.
I'm not impressed with these crazy-belting counter-tenors. That tongue thing he does is irritating, incorrect placement of the tongue at that.

How can you not be impressed? Though, I'm a bass so I tend to be mostly impressed with tenors in general. And a little bit jealous.
"How can you not be impressed?"
He has a wonderful voice and is probably MUCH better than the rest of the people on the show but that littler performance was very disappointing. I thought that he was much better in the Ten Commandments musical and Wicked, judging by videos a least.
I like men who sing like men. Not overgrown boy-sopranos. In general, I'm not impressed with counter-tenors. Wonderful voice or not.
I just prefer lower voices, being a bass-baritone.

He was okay, but he seemed a bit too "styled" for my taste. i prefer someone who is just more relaxed?
In WICKED, he reminded me of Justin Timberlake.
Them Bible times be much sexier than I remember...
That looked like a Falcon video with more bronzer.
Was Greer Childs his vocal coach? (see video below)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it sometimes easier to hit really high notes when thrusting your tongue forward as opposed to holding it at the back of our throat? Obviously, he's holding his tongue too far out because it is distracting, but at least it makes sense why he's doing it. He just needs to practise in front of a mirror to see how far forward it can be before it's too distracting.

I think it's more about flattening the tongue, but maybe I'm wrong? I'm no voice teacher.
That must be why Idina Menzel does it all the time.
It's also easier to sing through your nose to hit the high notes but it's still irritating. Sopranos and tenors do it all the time and assume they get away with it.
Warming up in the irritating nasal voice, fine. Performing, not a chance.
Keep an eye out for Jackie Tohn as well. I believe she auditioned in the San Fransisco round.
She's an amazing singer/musician. She was in the original cast of Jewtopia. Grew up on Long Island.
The girl's already had her music aired on Music Choice, and has a CD that was self-released.
