I just heard that Adam Pascal didn't play Radames in the previews of Aida. Who played Radames originally and why did he leave/get cut etc.?
Broadway previews?
If you mean the pre-Broadway production, then Radames was Hank Stratton.
Yeah, Eponine. Depends which previews you're talking about. Adam didn't do the Atlanta try-out, but the show was changed drastically between then and Chicago (when he got on board) anyway. He missed a few performances in Chicago because of injuries he sustained when the tomb fell.

Emcee, tell us about the tomb falling.
No, it's sad!!!!
I'm thumbing through the big AIDA book now. I know there's a passage where Adam talks about getting the job, and who he replaced, etc. *searches*
THE TOMB FELL?

PLEASE, Emcee. Don't ruin my good day!
Okay, yes. In the Chicago production, the tomb did the same thing it did on Broadway (closed around the center) but it was on a scissor lift, something like fifteen feet above the stage. The scissor life malfunctioned, and the tomb fell. No serious injuries, but Adam and Heather had to go to the emergency room, etc. It sounds like it was really scary.
*keeps looking for passage*
I KNOW it's here.
Any other neat stories in the AIDA book that you would like to share?

There's an Aida book? Where can I get it?
I live in Florida...which sucks. Would Barnes and Nobles or Borders have it?
I've seen it at both.
The only thing in the book about the tomb falling is like one paragraph. Adam talked quite a bit about it on both of his Chatterbox appearances. I think they cancelled a bunch of the performances he and Heather would've missed, so they only ended up missing one or two.
The passage about Adam joining after Atlanta isn't what I thought it was, either; I had thought it was more specific, but it's really about the changes he helped the character to undergo once he joined the cast. You know the "He wasn't interesting enough. There was no reason for Aida to fall in love with him. I mean, he's the enemy! bit.
Incdendiary, yeah. It's definitely on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. I got mine from BN.

Emcee, I love ya! *bows* I shall check on Saturday! Media clips? *pouts* I want some.
I nearly just bought that book on Amazon.com but thought better of it. $30 ouch. I'm asking for it for my birthday. :)
It's beautiful. YAY birthdays!

Is it in the Disney on Broadway book or an all Aida book?
We'll see if I can actually wait that long. I just know I'm gonna crack and get it anyway.
There's an all AIDA book, BT11.

I just heard of the book and I wanna buy it now. Too bad I'm broke. Lol. I remember when that whole tomb fiasco thing happened. That's pretty scary, to have something that big fall on you. I'm just glad that Adam and Heather weren't injured badly.
I got mine used on amazon in perfect condition for five bucks...
It didn't fall *on* them, it fell down with them in it. So, they basically fell fifteen feet onto the stage.
ohhh ic. oops. my bad. but ouch, that must've been painful
