Posted: 8/20/05 at 2:51pmI think topics such as this serve no positive purpose and actually hurt theater. We already have an unemployment rate of 95%. Why predict the negative? Why not spend time thinking of ways to help ailing shows.

Posted: 8/20/05 at 2:54pmNot so much as a negative.... as a "what to hurry up and catch now" thought. All shows have numbered days. Just wondering what should make it a point to see before it's gone for good. thats all.

Posted: 8/20/05 at 3:23pmI'm sorry, but shows shouldn't stay open just to keep people employed, especially if they are bad and aren't pulling a profit. Actors know what they are getting into when they decide to pursue a career in acting, so these arguments are pointless. That said, "Lennon" and "All Shook Up" are just screaming for closing notices.

Posted: 8/20/05 at 4:08pmIf you wish to see a show, make up your mind and buy your tickets in a timely manner. This site is about promoting theater, not dwelling on negativity. If a show is considered bad or is of no interest to too many ticket buyers, it will close in time on its own. History has proven that each season. I still believe that the theater community does not need self appointed fortune tellers predicting the final curtain for any show. It serves no positive purpose at all. I am out of this foolish thread and hope it ends here.

Oh get over it. It's just a topic.
I predict to be closing soon:
All Shook UP
Lennon

Posted: 8/20/05 at 4:19pmI was going to say Piazza, but there were rumors that they'd extend till the summer.

Posted: 8/20/05 at 4:23pmI predict lennon or spelling bee even though i love it. I think spelling bee only has one cast. That sorda reminds me of Brooklyn cuz that was only one cast. Even though spelling bee is a much better show.

Bee has understudies; and it may not be *easily* done, but it can be re-cast. Those actors are all very talented, but are by no measure irreplaceable. Bee's doing very, very well, though.

Spelling Bee has years left in it. It's playing in a small space at 102 perecent every week.
And please, use spell check. It'll make you look smarter. I promise...

Posted: 8/20/05 at 4:27pmSpelling Bee sells out NIGHTLY without the help of TKTS, TDF, or papering services. It's not going anywhere.
