Addams Family Commercials outside NYC area

I was watching the news this morning and was surprised to see a commercial for The Addams Family, which featured the theme song and the tagline "Visiting New York? Snap up your tickets!".

It struck me as odd because I live in Maryland and I never see ads for shows playing in New York down here. Has anyone else who lives outside NYC ever seen one of these ads?

I'm in Boston and can't remember seeing commercials for anything in NY.

I live a little way upstate and haven't seen anything on TV, but there was an ad on the website for my local newspaper with the same tagline as the one you saw. I thought it was odd, because usually they only play local ads.

I live in Jersey, so on occasion, I would see commericals on TV or on the radio.

Ha! So weird that you mention this because I saw the same commercial. No show footage, just the cartoons.

I live in Chicago and I occasionally see ads for Broadway shows on E. The only commercials I have seen were for God of Carnage and Brighton Beach Memoirs.

^^^I see a lot of "This program sponsored by..." on E! for Broadway shows, mostly God of Carnage or Rock of Ages...and I'm in Florida.

When I used to live in California I would occasionally see God of Carnage commercials. They used to run at 3 or 4 am during informercial hour. The only other time I saw commercials for Broadway shows was during the Tony Awards.
